Providence Public Safety Officer in Torrance, California
Providence is calling a Public Safety Officer (Part time/Evening shift) to Providence Little Company of Mary Medical Center in Torrance, CA.
We are seeking a Public Safety Officer who will maintain a safe and secure environment for hospital patients, visitors and employees. May be required to provide assistance in patient restraints in the age groups of adolescents, young, middle and older adults, by following the direction of the nurse in charge.
In this position you will:
Respond to all calls for assistance immediately, bases on the following priorities:
Protection of Property
General Assistance Calls
Continually conduct interior and/or exterior patrols, when not involved with calls for assistance
Respond to all emergency calls immediately and takes appropriate action
Complete Daily Logs by the end of watch on each shift
Ensure the Patrol Vehicle and Office are maintained in a clean and workable fashion
Locate unsecured areas while on patrol and takes appropriate action to secure
Complete all regular duties by the end of each shift
Complete all Event Reports prior to EOW during review period
Complete all logs by the end of each shift throughout the review period
Ensure that all “Special Duties”, i.e., Lost and Found, Photo ID Filing, etc., are carried out with no back up log, pile up or messy fashion
Required qualifications for this position include:
Education to meet certification, license or registration requirement
Valid California State Guard Card
Valid California Driver’s License
Basic Life Support (American Heart Association) only
Proven ability to effectively deal with hostile individuals in a professional manner
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
- Either Recent Public Safety (aka Security) or Military experience if Honorably Discharged
