Providence is calling a Surgical Services Aide (Surgical Services, Days, 0.0 FTE) to Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center & Children’s Hospital in Spokane, WA. We are a community of caregivers delivering every day on our Mission to provide compassionate care that is accessible for all – especially those who are poor and vulnerable.

This is a supplemental position with no guarantee on hours each week.

In this position you will:

• Under the direction of a registered nurse, transports patients to and from the surgical suite and post-operative patient care unit safely and efficiently. Assist others on the surgical care team by transporting patient specimens, cultures, blood and bodily fluids to laboratory as requested by nursing staff

• Maintain and stock supplies in storage cupboards and individual operating rooms; distribute linen supplies to operating room and changing areas ensuring adequate and appropriate supplies

• Assist in Case Cart Room and delivery of instruments to appropriate area following case

• Stock sub-sterile areas and supply carts

• Clean and terminally disinfect OR between cases and at the end of daily schedule to maintain operating room environment

• Assist in monthly cleaning following established procedures

• Perform tasks as delegated by perioperative nursing personnel

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent

• BLS Certification within 6 months of hire

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

• Experience in an acute or similar health care environment
