Providence Security Support Specialist, Lead in Spokane, Washington

Description:

Providence is calling a Security Support Specialist, Lead ( Security, Variables, 1.0 FTE) to Providence Holy Family Hospital in Spokane, Washington. In this position you will:

  • Provide support to the department in the areas of scheduling, accountability, security and safety. Responds to changes in emergent staffing needs.

  • Act as an expert resource to Security Support Specialists regarding Providence parking and security policies, procedures and expectations.

  • Coach and provide feedback to assigned caregivers to ensure compliance with Providence policies, standard operating procedures and Spokane Municipal Codes. Reports performance concerns to supervisor.

  • Train new and existing Security Support Specialists in new policies, processes, procedures or skills.

  • In the absence of a supervisor, provide leadership in emergency or high stress situations to ensure prompt and appropriate response by security staff.

  • In the absence of a supervisor, act as the security department liaison for other departments within Providence, law enforcement agencies, and other outside agencies that interact with security.

  • Receive non-emergent service calls from caregivers, patients and visitors related to parking, access control, badging and other general information requests.

  • Screen visitors in-person or via intercom and camera to determine appropriateness of after hours access to PHC facilities.

  • Monitor surveillance and camera systems, as well as alarms from access control and intrusion systems, and coordinate the response to any interruptions with the security operations center, security personnel, law enforcement, and other departments as required.

  • Generating work order and maintenance requests for parking and security related issues, including contacting other departments or agencies for follow-up.

  • Identify and communicate critical incidents or events according to established notification procedures—including senior management, as appropriate—and coordinate incident response logistics, provide direction and response instructions to security teams, and create accurate and timely incident reports.

  • Assist in coordination of service requests for after hour call transfers, access, additional security officer deployment or re-posting as requested.

  • Create and print photo identification access badges for physicians, caregivers, contractors, vendors, students, and volunteers within the Spokane Service Area.

  • Manage access control within Ccure and Galaxy by activating, extending, or removing/deactivating access at adhering to approval and programming standards and naming conventions for ease of use and consistency within the physical security electronic access control system.

  • Complete badge request changes including title, department, location change, credentials, name, etc., within the service area.

  • Respond tactfully to complaints and resolve badge/access issues. Deescalate verbally challenging situations as necessary.

  • Provide day-to-day administrative support for Security Services including: answering phones, greeting visitors, ordering/distributing office and photo ID supplies, processing invoices, driving record checks, setting up and maintaining filing systems and records, preparing outgoing mail, preparing meeting/conference materials, scheduling/coordinating meetings, reconciling monthly procurement card statements.

  • Coordinate PHC multi-campus daily sec security staffing and scheduling needs.

  • Attend all mandatory in-service training programs.

  • Emotional Demands: Demonstrate emotional stability by being able to function appropriately and effectively in dealing with critical, stressful or unexpected situations.

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • H.S. Diploma or GED

  • One (1) year customer service, administrative, communications, or security related work.

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Associate's Degree

  • Three (3) years customer service, administrative, communications, or security related work.
