Providence Health & Services Nurse Technician in Spokane, Washington
Providence is calling a Nurse Technician (Nurse Training, Variables, 0.33 FTE) to Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center and Children’s Hospital and Holy Family Hospital in Spokane, Washington. In this position you will:
Participate in all aspects of the nursing care process under the guidance of the registered nurse and within the scope of the nurse technician’s education.
Assist in implementation of nursing process to extent allowed by education.
Administer and document basic nursing care including vital signs and observations of signs and symptoms, and reports any reactions or changes in condition to the supervising RN.
Participate in patient care conferences.
Perform nursing procedures as assigned and as trained, such as bedside testing of blood glucose monitoring, hemocult screening, specific gravity, urinary catheterization and other treatments and procedures as trained and validated by the approved nursing program and as delegated by the RN.
Actively assist in evaluation / updating the patient’s plan of care by reviewing subjective and objective data and accurately documenting the updates on the care plan. Update the plan of care in collaboration with the RN and other team members.
Document accurately, promptly and appropriately according to hospital policy. Utilize hospital electronic medical record systems as trained.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Completed one academic term which includes a clinical rotation
Clinical rotation (see Education)
Current WA State Nursing Technician Registration
Current Healthcare Provider BLS as certified by the American Heart Association
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
- Bachelor's Degree. Must be currently enrolled and in good standing in an approved nursing program approved by the Nursing Care Quality Assurance Commission, Washington State Department of Health; or other state nursing approval body for out of state residents. Written documentation is required from the approved nursing program of the current level of educational preparation and an assessment of the knowledge and skills of the individual.
