Providence Health & Services Food Nutrition Services Assistant in Spokane, Washington
Providence is calling a Food Nutrition Services Assistant (Food and Nutrition Services, Evening Shift, 0.4 FTE) to Providence Emilie Court Assisted Living in Spokane, Washington. In this position you will:
Assists in security and sanitation responsibilities of the kitchen.
Operates and takes care of equipment and work areas according to Washington State Health Department guidelines and facility sanitation and safety standards.
Sets up meal trays, checks for quality and accuracy, and delivers to nursing units and/or dining rooms.
Prepares and delivers special supplements/snacks to nursing units for residents.
Assists in food preparation as outlined on job activity schedule.
Attends meetings and in services as directed.
Answers phone in Food & Nutrition Services Department.
Works assigned work schedule which includes weekends and holidays.
Adjusts daily work assignments to ensure meal carts are delivered on time.
Completes cleaning checklist daily.
Washes dishes according to sanitation guidelines.
Uses appropriate safety guidelines and precautions.
Demonstrates safe handling skills and use of equipment.
Participates and demonstrates knowledge of fire and disaster plans.
Reports any equipment safety hazard appropriately.
Follows universal precaution procedures.
Observes principles of good body mechanics.
Demonstrates pro-active approach to patient and facility safety needs.
Knows purpose and location of MSDS information.
Demonstrates a willingness to critique own practice error, documents unusual occurrences and pursues solutions.
Meets productivity goals per department standard.
Communicates appropriate information to other team members.
Demonstrates positive interpersonal relationship skills and teamwork ability.
Functions to keep personal life and biases separate from work to avoid negative impact on department operations.
Constructively confronts co-workers on a one-on-one basis with issues of concerns and reports irreconcilable differences among co-workers to appropriate supervisor.
Actively participates in providing educational exchanges across and within clinical disciplines.
Cooperates when asked to adjust schedule to meet patient and department needs, including floating to any area.
Required qualifications for this position include:
- Food Handler's Permit (or must obtain within 14 days of hire)
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
- 6 months previous food service experience.
