Providence is calling an Athletic Trainer (Athletic Training Program, Variable, 1.0 FTE) to Providence St. Luke's Rehabilitation Institute in Spokane, Washington. In this position you will:
Assess and provide appropriate injury prevention, management and rehabilitation to athletes within the guidelines of NATA.
Evaluate athletes and initiates appropriate treatment using accepted techniques in the school setting.
Communicate and advise frequently and effectively with others involved in the athlete’s care regarding scheduling, treatment plans, progress and participation status.
Provide and maintain accurate thorough, legible and timely patient and non-patient related documentation, handwritten or computerized in accordance with department and school district policies and procedures.
Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to adjust daily schedule to meet service area demands and cover special events as requested.
Perform duties in compliance with departmental policies, procedures, timelines and productivity standards.
Promote injury prevention by communicating with coaches and school personnel in identification of potential concerns.
Keep informed of health care issues, changing department procedures, and other department information by attending staff/team meetings and or reading staff meeting minutes, e-mails and newsletters.
Provide a comfortable, orderly, clean, and safe work environment, securing appropriate supplies as necessary.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as deemed appropriate by the Clinical Supervisor, Team Physician, Coach and Athletic Director.
Meet productivity goals per department standards.
Attend and participates in patient care conferences when necessary.
Work within the guidelines of the National Athletic Trainers Association.
Pursue educational activities to maintain a current level of knowledge and competency.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Trained in concussion management.
Washington State licensed or eligible.
Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA-BLS) certification for the Healthcare Provider or obtain within the first 30 days of employment.
Completion of record check through the Washington State Patrol Criminal Identification System and through the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Record check shall include finger print check using Washington State criminal identification fingerprint card.
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
National Athletic Trainer Association (NATA) Certification.
Recent applicable clinical experience.
Two (2) years experience working in school environment as an athletic trainer.
