Providence Health & Services Registered Radiologic Technologist Clinic - Float in Sherwood, Oregon
Providence is calling a Registered Radiologic Technologist to a Clinic Float position in the Portland Metro area. This position will cover vacations and leaves of absences at Providence clinics throughout the Portland region, including Vancouver area.
We are seeking a Registered Radiologic Technologist who will perform radiologic examinations using a variety of sophisticated radiologic equipment for use in diagnosis of patient conditions, taking into account individual patient's needs. This job may require an employee to be responsible for the assessment, treatment or care of a child, adolescent, adult or geriatric patient.
In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
Position patient and obtain radiologic film of the patient's anatomy as ordered by the physician
Ensure images are of quality necessary for later diagnosis by radiologist
Review films to ensure quality necessary for later diagnosis by radiologist and/or physician
Retake films as needed
Adjust equipment to achieve optimal picture resolution, performs regular maintenance and minor repairs, informing supervisor of need for outside repair
Complete paperwork necessary to document examination and findings and to capture appropriate patient charges
Be responsible for maintaining patient care while the patient is in radiology
Modify technique and equipment required dependent on the age of the patient
Establish and maintain professional expertise through appropriate continuing education
Consistently provide care appropriate to the age of the patient including pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric
Participate in program projects or work team as requested
Demonstrate positive interpersonal behavior when asked to participate in resolving situations experienced by others in department and/or volunteering time, knowledge and skills to others
Required qualifications for this position includes:
Current American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) (R) certification
Current Oregon Board of Medical Imaging (OBMI), or the Washington State Dept. of Health, as an RTR
Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS certification
Completion of pledge to Image Gently/Image Wisely within one month of hire
Computer skills and knowledge of keyboard functionality
Expert knowledge of anatomy and physiology, imaging principles and practices, as well as the ability to obtain high-quality images
Adherence to appropriate professional credentialing practice standards
Preferred qualifications for this position includes:
One (1) year experience in a clinic/hospital setting
Licensure requirements determined by clinic location
Southwest WA state based clinics: dual state licensure
Float Rad Tech positions: dual state licensure
