Providence Health & Services Senior Technical Program Manager (Implementation), Lumedic in Seattle, Washington
Lumedic , an affiliate of Providence St. Joseph Health (PSJH), is seeking a Senior Technical Program Manager (Implementation) in Seattle, WA to own and drive the successful integration of the Lumedic Intelligent Revenue Cycle Platform. In this role, you will work with product owners to define user stories and acceptance criteria and serve as agile scrum master to a team of software engineers and quality assurance personnel.
This position is responsible for developing their agile team into a strong, cohesive unit with a commitment to one another, their product, and the schedule. The Technical Program Manager will predict challenges and work with internal and external stakeholders to mitigate them before they impact the team.
The Technical Program Manager performs all duties in a manner that promotes Providence mission, values, and philosophy. In all aspects, he/she serves as a role model for the values and mission of the organization.
The position reports to the Director of Program Management and must establish and maintain effective working relationships with management and staff at all levels within both Lumedic and Providence, including staff, vendors, agents, and others. The Technical Program Manager will work closely with other project managers, product managers, developers, DevOps engineers, and QA resources in an agile and fast paced environment.
Responsibilities for the position include:
Strong collaboration across feature teams to ensure platform integration success.
Commitment to quality engineering practices and integration testing with operational systems including EPIC.
Understand and reinforce the importance of agile methodologies, test driven development approaches, and consistent developer workflow.
Deeply understand the business and technical requirements of the solutions being built and drive the right outcomes.
Own system launch plans, ensuring effective and timely coordination and collaboration with all internal teams and external stakeholders, including but not limited to clinical, operational, compliance, and financial areas.
Foster a positive, respectful, collaborative environment for problem solving and work hard to protect your team from distractions or impediments to their mission.
Develop relationships and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders and cross functional teams to ensure solutions meet project timelines and business objectives.
Effectively manage and report on scope, risks and issues, budget and schedules
Required qualifications for this position include:
7 - 10 years of relevant industry experience shipping consumer-facing and/or enterprise software and have delivered solutions end to end.
Adept at owning communications about the project and its status to various stakeholders.
Can provide many examples of facilitating rapid progress by ensuring timely and effective decision-making, clearing blockers, and escalating effectively and appropriately.
Track record of understanding the needs of technical teams and non-technical stakeholders, helping all parties to make appropriate trade-offs by considering the larger picture
Proven ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical managers to scope technical efforts, set project priorities / milestones and drive delivery
Practiced at ensuring project success metrics have been defined with appropriate representation from all stakeholder groups
Able to manage the overall launch schedule, including risk mitigation
Able to look down the road and plan for the unexpected, ensuring that related systems and automated / manual processes (upstream and downstream) are not broken by changes related to your program, nor is your program broken by related changes in external systems / processes
Ability to act as scrum master (daily stand-ups, story prioritization, team retrospective meeting facilitation, sprint planning, story estimation, etc.)
Have experience managing scrum teams, particularly those following TDD/ATDD methodologies.
Understands system integration methods, technologies, tools and processes; has experience bringing together component subsystems into a whole
Have a deep knowledge of, and successful track record integrating with EPIC.
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or other related scientific or engineering fields.
Scrum Master or PMP Certification
Extensive and recent experience working with EPIC in a hospital system environment.
