Swedish Health Services Senior Healthcare Data Analyst - Case Management in Seattle, Washington

Description:

Swedish Medical Center is looking for a Senior Healthcare Data Analyst (1.0 FTE, DAY SHIFT) to work for the Case Management at Swedish Shared Services in Seattle, WA.

The Senior Healthcare Data Analyst role supports Swedish Health Services' goals by writing queries and creating reports that allow us to improve the revenue capture focused on denials and reducing costs of care. This role provides analytic support to measure and evaluate cost of care and revenue capture opportunities. The ideal candidate is passionate about data and its ability to tell stories and answer questions that are meaningful for providers and payers.

In this position you will:

  • Create, validate, and maintain SQL queries to pull data from Epic’s Clarity database and other Swedish/Providence data sources (e.g., EDW) in order to understand and improve practice patterns and patient outcomes

  • Collaborate with case management and revenue cycle colleagues, physicians, administrators, and other Swedish partners to scope, design, and validate recurring and ad hoc reports of moderate to high complexity

  • Document project details using appropriate tools and maintain report specifications that clearly describe how the report works

  • Enhance existing reports and reporting processes to create efficiencies and added value throughout Swedish

  • Review and collaboration with Swedish and Providence analysts/database administrators to ensure coordination of efforts and best-practice sharing

  • Interpret reports for administrative, clinical, and non-technical audiences.

  • Understand and educate colleagues on the connection between clinical input and financial output

  • Use various tools to create reports that effectively and efficiently communicate the key message

  • Leads initiatives to continuously improve the methods and processes of the case management/utilization management and revenue cycle team

  • Serves as a technical expert to guide and mentor other analyst colleagues.

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelor's Degree in computer science, mathematics, statistics, information technology, health informatics, public health, or related subject

  • Demonstrated analytical skills

  • Ability to analyze and interpret financial data

  • Three (3) years SQL programming experience

  • Two (2) years experience in analytics at a healthcare delivery setting (e.g., hospital, medical center, medical group, clinic)

  • Two (2) years experience with reporting data out of Epic Clarity and/or Chronicles databases

  • Experience with Tableau data visualization software

  • Proven experience creating, managing, and validating large data sets

  • Experience with advanced analytic techniques (e.g., statistical modeling, predictive analytics, natural language processing, machine learning).

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Master's Degree computer science, mathematics, statistics, information technology, health informatics, public health, or related subject

  • PMP Certification

  • Experience with statistical analysis methodologies, modeling, and hypothesis testing
