Swedish Health Services Regional Director of Project Management in Seattle, Washington

Description:

Swedish Medical Center is looking for a Regional Director of Project Management (1.0 FTE, Days) at First Hill in Seattle, WA

The Regional Director of Project Management will be held accountable for leading the capital project management team across all Swedish locations. In addition, this person will be responsible for leading the First Hill Expansion Projects. These projects include a new 240’ inpatient tower (the North Tower), which will provide a new 50,000 sf Emergency Department, a new 24 unit Main Surgery and future bed floors for the Swedish First Hill campus. The First Hill Expansion Projects also include a new 240’ outpatient tower (Block 95 project), which will house high acuity outpatient services and be connected to the inpatient facilities via a new skybridge and tunnel as part of the projects. This role will be responsible for the delivery and overall success of each program's phases and subprojects.

In this position you will:

  • Direct project managers, coordinators, contractors and consultants to insure all projects meet scope, schedule and budget expectations.

  • Initiate, set, manage and report against benchmarks, targets and the goals of all Swedish capital projects to ensure the success of the capital project program.

  • Foster innovation and leverage technology to develop best practices related to the implementation of capital projects in a healthcare environment.

  • Generate capital project estimates and support capital prioritization in the management of the Swedish 5 year capital plan and pipeline.

  • Work with the leaders of the integrated real estate teams to foster a culture of collaboration and focus on the Swedish Mission and Values.

  • Keep Swedish Senior Executives and caregivers informed with regular, detailed and accurate reports or presentations.

  • Manage project teams, key vendors and relationships vital to the success of Swedish capital projects, with clear processes and procedures for project delivery, mitigation plans to avoid financial and schedule risks and the negotiation of contractual partnerships with support from Swedish Legal and Executive teams.

  • Ensure a positive working relationship and clear communication between federal, state, local and regulatory jurisdictions to ensure current and future permitting, entitlements and compliance requirements are not at risk.

  • Work with state, local and regulatory jurisdiction to communicate and mitigate the impact of projects to the communities surrounding Swedish campuses.

  • Report directly to the Chief Real Estate Officer at Swedish.

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field

  • Ten (10) or more years experience with construction project/program management techniques and methods

  • Proven experience as director or similar role with large scale healthcare construction programs

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Master's Degree in Science or Business Administration

  • Extensive experience in a healthcare setting
