Swedish Health Services Program Director Family Medicine Residency, First Hill in Seattle, Washington

THE ROLE

Swedish Medical Center is seeking a board-certified Family Medicine physician to lead as the Program Director for the Swedish First Hill Family Medicine Residency program located in Seattle.

This influential leader must have the skills to continually develop the faculty and assure alignment with the larger Swedish Health Services mission to serve the King County community. In addition to the residency program development, the Program Director is responsible for oversight of several family medicine affiliated fellowships, collaboration with Swedish Family Medicine Cherry Hill Residency program and coordination with other Swedish Graduate Medical Education programs.

The Director will serve on the Swedish Medical Group Executive Leadership Team as a representative of the Graduate Medical Education Section. Qualifications:

IDEAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Three to five years of faculty experience and/or leadership experience required

  • Ideal candidate will lead the program and develop a strategy and vision for training graduates ready for practice in healthcare's future state

  • Must be passionate about teaching multi-disciplinary learners, as well as assisting in developing these skills

  • Director ensures program meets all requirements for maintaining ACGME accreditation, assuring that graduates will succeed in meeting ACGME core competency requirements

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Previous experience starting a program and introducing innovative, robust curriculums a plus

The Swedish First Hill campus is a 697-bed, general medical and surgical hospital located in downtown Seattle. As the largest of Swedish’s five hospitals, First Hill is considered the main Swedish campus. In addition to the hospital and emergency department, the First Hill campus is home to the Swedish Cancer Institute and the Swedish Orthopedic Institute. The hospital provides a wide range of inpatient and outpatient services including the area’s largest childbirth center, NICU and specialty pediatric care.
