Where you work matters! Swedish Medical Center is looking for a Physical Therapist (Per Diem, Variable Shift) to work in Pain Services Department at Swedish First Hill in Seattle, Washington.

The Physical Therapist (PT) is a member of the interdisciplinary team that provides direct clinical services to the Swedish Pain Services (SPS) including the outpatient "Functional Restoration" center and hospital-based "Pain Management" suite.

In this position you will:

• Evaluate and develop individual treatment plans to maximize functional outcomes

• Documentation meets regulatory requirements, departmental standards, and considers reimbursement needs. Documents on day of visit, usually at time of visit

• Carries out assigned responsibilities in a timely and complete manner, using appropriate judgment and detail

• Responds to requests in a positive and helpful manner

• Takes initiative to identify and resolve problems, and is pro-active in facilitating operational improvement

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

• A graduate of an accredited program of Physical Therapy

• Possesses valid Washington state physical therapy license, or temporary permit

• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Providers required at time of hire from American Heart Association (AHA) or Military Training Network (MTN)

• For designated therapists completing home safety evaluations a valid driver’s license and valid vehicle registration form is required. In the case of a newly relocated individual, a Washington state license must be acquired under the circumstances and within the required timeframe set by the state of Washington

• For designated therapists completing home safety evaluations possession of the minimum (or greater) insurance coverage as mandated by the state of Washington also required

• Strong understanding of bio psychosocial model of chronic pain

• Ability to learn and/or integrate the latest concepts of Pain Neuroscience Education into treatment plans

• Strong orthopedic background

• Highly developed interpersonal, and counseling skills required.

• Demonstrated ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple demands and projects.

• Ability to work with a diverse patient and staff population

• Ability to work effectively with groups

• Ability to develop cooperative relationships with families, patients, physicians and other health care professionals within and outside Swedish

• Ability to work in different settings as required by system needs

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

• Graduation from accredited DPT program

• Women’s health continuing education or certification experience

• Pain Neuroscience continuing education or certification as therapeutic pain specialist’s health continuing education or certification experience

• Experience in ortho, neuro, cancer, cardiac or other designated specialty populations based on campus needs

• Experience treating chronic pain
