Swedish Health Services Patient Services Coordinator - Cherry Hill Family Medicine Clinic in Seattle, Washington

Description:

Come be a part of our exciting, Family Medicine teaching clinic! Swedish Medical Center is looking for a Patient Services Coordinator (1.0 FTE, Days) to work at Swedish Cherry Hill in Seattle, WA.

Handles all incoming telephone calls in a prompt and courteous manner; transfers calls to appropriate person(s) within the clinic or takes detailed messages. Schedules patient appointments in-person at the reception desk or over the telephone. Also provides training, orientation and education of staff.

At Swedish, we are passionate about healthcare for our caregivers. Full-time caregivers (0.75-1.0 FTE) who earn less than $60,000 per year will be offered the Swedish PPO Medical Plan with a $0 premium cost, including dependent coverage. ORCA pass assitance also provided by company, to aid in local transportation useage.

In this position you will:

  • Responds to all telephone calls and/or TTY line requests, including routing of calls and handling of appropriate message taking.

  • Schedules appointments in person or over the telephone.

  • Checks patients in upon arrival for appointments; obtains copy of insurance card, verifies patient demographics and insurance information.

  • Data entry of new patient registration data into system.

  • Performs in-office collection activities; collection of co-pays, writing receipts and balancing cash bag.

  • Schedules interpreters and other special patient needs services.

  • Creates physician schedules, producing printed schedules and maintaining accurate schedules. Provide daily schedules for nurses to review.

  • Reviews and prepares daily fee tickets for the next day’s appointments. Documents canceled and missed appointments on the fee ticket and visit log.

  • Data entry of Radiology Orders accurately and in a timely manner.

  • Prepares written material packets for OB patients and well child patients.

  • Prepares mail for outgoing delivery. Corrects and updates mail returns on the computer and in patient charts.

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • 1 year of customer service experience involving a high volume telephone environment and extensive computer usage/experience.

Preferred qualification for this position include:

  • Ambulatory clinic experience
