Swedish Health Services OB Surgery Scheduler / L&D Coordinator in Seattle, Washington


Swedish Medical Center is looking for an OB Surgery Scheduler / L&D Coordinator (1.0 FTE, Days) to work in Labor and Delivery at Swedish First Hill in Seattle, Washington.

The OB Surgery Scheduler / L&D Coordinator is responsible for: 1) Scheduling labor inductions, cesarean sections and other outpatient procedures to be performed in the OB ED / Triage; 2) Providing support to the OB ED Triage by registering patients, answering phones, reviewing charges and other support tasks as needed; 3) Ensuring that patient prenatal and other outside medical records are scanned into the patient's medical record in a timely manner. 4) Preparing and maintaining a variety of statistical reports as requested by manager. Maintains positive and professional customer relations consistent with the mission, vision and values of the Labor & Delivery Department and Swedish Medical Center.

In this position you will:

  • Accurately schedules patient procedures and appointments according to departmental protocol

  • Answer telephone, answer questions, take messages or refer caller to appropriate party

  • Assist management with anticipating patient flow by maintain an Anticipated Delivery Log by group/provider

  • Places outgoing calls and answers all incoming calls using correct phone etiquette and exemplary customer service skills

  • Ensures that patients’ prenatal records are scanned into the EMR in a timely manner, in order for them to be available for the caregivers when the patient presents to L&D


Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Associate's Degree or equivalent from college or technical school with emphasis in Health Care or equivalent educ/experience

  • One (1) year experience in acute care surgical setting
