Swedish Health Services Nutrition Educator - Pediatric Specialists in Seattle, Washington
Description:
Swedish Medical Group is looking for a Nutrition Educator (Per Diem, Day Shift) to work in Pediatric Specialists at Swedish Medical Group in Seattle, Washington.
The Nutrition Education will participate in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of pediatric nutrition education program at Swedish Medical Group. Assess patient's self-care needs and his/her ability to manage care. Apply the nutrition care process while teaching patients and families. Assess needs of patient and family.
In this position you will:
Apply nutrition care process for developing the patients care plan which includes assessing the needs of the patient and family, formulating the educational plan, implementing, evaluation and revisions as needed
Assist in medical management of patients according to department policies and procedures
Complete necessary documentation per department policies and procedures
Communicate information and coordinate patient care with appropriate members of the health care team
Work alongside pediatric gastroenterologists, pulmonologists, surgeons and nephrologists to assess the nutritional status of patients
Qualifications:
Required qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition Sciences or Dietetics
Current national registration as a Registered Dietitian
Washington State Certified Dietitian
If CDE eligible, must certify within one (1) year of employment
Four (4) years nutrition experience, preferably one (1) year in ambulatory care setting or community health
Two (2) years experience with teaching and public speaking
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Master's Degree in Nutrition Sciences or Dietetics
Two (2) years pediatric experience
