Description:

Swedish Medical Center is looking for a Interventional Radiology Technologist Certified II (0.0 FTE, Days) in Interventional Radiology at Swedish Cherry Hill in Seattle, WA

Interventional Radiology Technologist Certified II will assist the Interventional Radiologists, Neuroradiologists, Neurosurgeons, Vascular Surgeons, Thoracic Surgeons and Cardiologists during a variety of technical procedures including but not limited to percutaneous interventions, diagnostic and therapeutic vascular procedures, invasive procedures, biopsies, drain placements, AAA, TAG, ECMO, and Intra OP Angio for Craniotomy in any of 4 IR suites and in all Hybrid OR/IR rooms, under the direct supervision of a physician.

In this position you will:

  • Demonstrate functional understanding of various interventional radiology imaging equipment to include digital x-ray and computer assisted applications

  • Maintain ability to calibrate and perform analysis functions for vessel diameter and stenosis

  • Understand the set-up and operation of monitoring equipment and vital sign recording

  • Provide for documentation in procedure flowsheet as necessary

  • Assess patient vital signs and condition as required, notifying physician of any changes

  • Maintain general knowledge of department medication stock and routes of administration

  • Demonstrate the ability to work as a cohesive team member with all physicians (surgeons and interventional radiologists) fellows, residents, anesthesiologists, anesthesia techs, OR scrub techs, OR nurses, IR technologists, IR nurses, students and other ancillary department staff in a variety of roles including IR scrub tech, circulator, and monitor

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position includes:

  • Successful completion of a formal Radiologic Technologist program -or- a two-year invasive cardiovascular program and successfully pass an approved national exam for Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS)

  • Successful completion of advanced training in Neuro, Vascular and Hybrid procedures including sign-off by IR preceptor, and demonstrate competency in Hybrid ORs at all locations

  • Must have Radiologic Technologist registry by ARRT

  • Washington State Certified Radiologic Technologist – Diagnostic license

  • Post primary certification in Interventional Radiology required within 2 years of hire for the RT or Certified by the Washington State Department of Health as a Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist and Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) certification

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Providers required at time of hire from American Heart Association (AHA) or Military Training Network (MTN)

  • Six (6) months of experience as Tier 1 technologist, demonstrate competency by successful completion of advanced training in Neuro, Vascular and Hybrid procedures including sign-off by IR preceptor, and demonstrate competency in Hybrid ORs at all locations

Preferred qualifications for this position includes:

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification

  • Two (2) years of experience as an Interventional Technologist, or as a Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist
