Providence Data Visualization Engineer - Lumedic in Seattle, Washington

Providence St. Joseph Health is calling a Data Visualization Engineer - Lumedic to our location in Seattle, WA.

Lumedic is in need of an talented Individual who can spearhead our efforts to present data and Insights In an Intuitive, clear and engaging way. Our Data Science team is working to create new predictive models and relevant data sets, but needs to connect this information back to the users. This role will drive data presentation architecture, solution development, integration strategy for our portals, and present insights gathered and extracted from healthcare claims data. We are a data driven company and see huge value locked within the data we generate and work with. With access to millions of patient encounters, the right leader will own creation of new models to uncover deep Insights and support engineering them back Into Lumedic's products.

In this position you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Define engineering objectives by analyzing user requirements; envisioning system features and functionality.

  • Make large and/or complex data more accessible, understandable and usable.

  • Deliver data in a useful and appealing way to users.

  • Work with large healthcare and financial datasets to provide clear insights via metrics, trendlines, interactive graphs and other presentation techniques.

  • Develop and extend web presentation layer for user portals.

  • Investigate, rationalize, and recommend optimal approaches for architecting performant web presentation layer, evaluating data handling across app layers.

  • Evaluate code to ensure it meets industry standards, is valid, is properly structured, and is compatible with browsers.

  • Communicate effectively and clearly to a range of audiences, from domain experts to business leaders.

  • Success in the role will be highly dependent on candidate's ability to set vision, direction and strategy for how to create Insights and Intelligence from revcycle data.

Qualifications:

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelor's Degree/Master's Degree in Math, Applied Math, Statistics, Computer Science, related field.

  • 5 years relevant work experience in data visualization and data analytics.

  • Experience with D3.js.

  • Experience querying relational databases.

  • Experience with Tableau or PowerBI.

  • Experience with JavaScript frameworks React and/or Bootstrap
