THE ROLE

The Digital Innovation Group (DIG) at Providence Health & Services is a small but mighty product mission-driven team that is building next-gen tools that give patients convenient and easy access to healthcare virtually anywhere, anytime.

We are seeking a Chief of Staff to support our Digital Innovation organization. This critically important role has end to end responsibility for business operations, enabling the EVP and 4-6 functional leaders to work most effectively with internal and external stakeholders and fulfill Providence’s mission to reinvent healthcare.

This highly strategic and facilitative role requires a combination of focus and flexibility, and the ability to manage a portfolio of critical initiatives. This person will be the ‘trusted counsel’ to the EVP on major strategic considerations, coordinate and execute strategy, improve the team’s capabilities and performance where possible, and deliver consulting assignments in addition to ensuring operational excellence within our rhythm of business. The role requires a highly resourceful individual with strong emotional intelligence, self-motivation, and strong analytical skills.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

The Chief of Staff - Digital Innovation Group will:

  • Be a thought partner to the EVP of Digital Innovation and the DIG leadership team.

  • Serve as primary business operations leader with Providence shared services on matters related to Contracts, Procurement, Legal, HR, Recruiting, Facilities, Finance, IT.

  • Manage Rhythm of the Business, scorecard, roadmaps, and business performance management processes.

  • Lead the intentional development of organization culture and employee engagement.

  • Lead through influence, working with team members across the organization.

  • Provide oversight to division metrics and dashboards.

  • Prepare and participate in the bi-monthly strategy and progress presentation to the corporate CEO and President.

  • Own making decision processes more effective and efficient.

  • Creates communications and presentations that are both internally and externally focused.

  • Serve as the advocate and change agent where current processes do not support our needs.

  • Model our culture of excellence to all employees and internal and external partners insisting on the highest standards.

  • Conduct studies of complex issues that do not fit neatly into the major groups reporting into leadership.

  • Work across internal communications teams to support ongoing communication needs (presentations, company meetings, announcements, updates, etc.)

  • Partner with marketing and Digital Innovation leadership to create department overview/vision and strategic roadmap.

  • Capture action items and think strategically about driving complex decision making and accountability in a highly matrixed and complex organization.

  • Other duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

QUALIFICATIONS

Required education/experience for this position include:

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field or higher

  • 8-10 years of experience leading complex products, projects, or organizations or equivalent education and experience.

  • Experience in a substantial leadership role working closely with general management and/or executives.

  • Distinctive problem solving and analysis skills and impeccable business judgment.

  • Ability to take broad direction and figure out the right thing to do.

  • Excellent management and prioritization of a large portfolio of responsibilities.

  • Demonstrated track record evaluating, advocating, and deploying software tools to drive efficiency and collaboration.

  • Demonstrated track record of being a change agent.

  • Should be strong willed, a fast learner and are able to effect changes fast (based on customer or employee feedback)

Preferred education/experience for this position include:

  • Master's Degree
