Swedish Health Services Cardiac Device Technician - Heart And Vascular Clinic in Seattle, Washington
Swedish is looking for a Cardiac Device Technician (1.0 FTE, Day Shift) to work at the Heart and Vascular Clinic in Seattle, WA.
The Device Tech works with physicians, mid-levels, clinical staff and office staff to effectively, efficiently and accurately fulfill the duties and responsibilities of a busy outpatient device clinic. All procedures and treatments performed must be ordered by the physician, and/or mid-level providers. Duties and responsibilities will include interrogation and assessment of implantable cardiac devices which include pacemakers, defibrillators and implantable loop recorders, as well as management of remote transmissions.
In this position you will:
Analyze patient rhythm strips, interpret magnet behavior, identify potential emergent problems and referral to MD if needed
Download and interpret remote transmissions from patients for all remote sites and companies
Maintains close communication with physicians and staff in regards to device functionality and appropriately responds to needs of patient with concerns or questions
Provides patient education. Determines level of insight and provides necessary education, to include family support members. Educates patients regarding post implant care, immediate and long term care
Advises patients on after hours care/telephonic care/and remote care
Required qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor's Degree in health or science related field or equivalent educ/experience
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) card must be from the following authorized governing bodies: American Heart Association (AHA) - (BLS Provider), American Red Cross (ARC) - (BLS for Health Care Provider), or Military Training Network (MTN) – (Healthcare Provider) upon hire
One (1) year experience in the care and/or assessment of cardiac patients
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Basic EKG skills
Completion of ATI training
