St. Joseph Health / Covenant Health Decision Support Manager - NorCal Decision Support Services in Santa Rosa, California

We are looking for a Decision Support Manager for the NorCal Decision Support Services Department at Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital.

Location: Santa Rosa, CA

Work Schedule: Full Time - 80 Biweekly Hours

Shift: 8-hour, Days

Job Summary:

Regional Manager of Decision Support is responsible for the direction and oversight of a technical and analytical team with the following responsibilities:

  • Annual Operating Budgets

  • Decision support system development and maintenance

  • Business intelligence analytics and reporting

  • Long range financial forecasts and plans

The Regional Manager works under the direction of the Regional Director of Financial Services to foster metric-driven organizational planning, operates with autonomy in developing work plans, selecting appropriate analytical staff and assuring the use of best practice business analytics to define and evaluate decisions. The Regional Manager provides direct support to staff, departmental directors and senior management in all facets of financial operational analysis, including but not limited to budget development, productivity analysis, revenue and expense analysis, forecasting and staffing models.

Essential Functions:

  • Assumes responsibility and accountability for Decision Support System, hospital budgets and forecasts.

  • Working directly with Controllers, oversees compilation of annual hospital budgets and five-year forecasts providing required information to hospital management.

  • Oversees utilization of Decision Support System to improve fiscal performance of the hospitals.

  • Analyzes trends, identifies opportunities and implements changes in systems or technology to improve efficiency, productivity and decrease costs.

  • Acts as project manager in support of EMT led financial projects. Specifically consulting with all levels of management to develop, quantify and track action plans.

  • Provides training to staff and all levels of management in the areas of budget, staffing analysis, financial concepts and report generation.

  • Works closely with Directors of Finance and Controllers to perform analyses of all aspects of the local SJH entities.

  • Works directly with management to review financial and operating opportunities and development of action plans.

  • Acts as a resource for Managers and Executives regarding budget and productivity tracking, targets, and improvement plans.

  • Supports and implements other financial, analytical and operational projects as identified by the Regional CFO.

  • Develops and enhances accurate and reliable regional standardized financial analyses and reports

Minimum Position Requirements:

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Healthcare or Business Administration, or related field.

Experience:

  • 5 years experience with 3 years in acute healthcare field.

  • Experience with budgeting, productivity benchmarking, analysis and planning.

Preferred Position Qualifications:

Education: Master's Degree
