St. Joseph Health / Covenant Health Clinical Pharmacist - Pharmacy in Santa Rosa, California

We are looking for a Clinical Pharmacist with the Pharmacy at Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital.

Location: Santa Rosa, CA

Work Schedule: Full time - 80 biweekly hours

Shift: 10-hour (Variable) Days

Job Summary:

Provides the professional didactic knowledge, clinical and technical skills required by the Department to assure that every patient receives safe and effective drug therapy during hospitalization. Works independently. Requires little supervision. Seeks supervisory direction as required.


  • Working knowledge of:

  • the practice of institutional pharmacy

  • pharmacy reference materials and ability to utilize them in the provision of drug information

  • performance of research utilizing on line resources/internet

  • computer systems in on-line information retrieval

  • the practice of inventory/stock controls

  • drug/solutions/delivery systems

  • drug interactions/incompatibilities

  • current laws/regulations which affect practice of pharmacy

  • aseptic compounding techniques

  • the preparation of extemporaneous sterile/non-sterile products

  • Ability to:

  • utilize computers and basic word processing and spreadsheets

  • plan/direct organize/delegate effectively during shift

  • effectively communicate in written/verbal mediums with staff/health care personnel

Position Requirements:

Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Pharmacy.

Experience: Hospital/health care experience; entry level individuals will be considered.

License / Certification: Current license to practice pharmacy in the State of California.

Preferred Position Qualifications:

  • Pharmacy Residency.

  • One to two years of hospital pharmacy experience.
