Work Schedule: On call/Per diem

Shift: 8 hour, Days

Job Summary:

The Administrative Coordinator provides secretarial support, outpatient admission and insurance verification, data gathering, statistical reports, typing, tracking of supplies and rental equipment, and monitoring of billing, productivity, and medical records to the Acute and SubAcute Units.

Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for patient scheduling and coordination with appropriate personnel, accurately and thoroughly.

  • Responsible for receiving therapy referrals and the coordination of the components for admission (i.e., obtain old chart or records, insurance verification, treatment authorization, etc.).

  • Records and documents timely and appropriate entries on the authorization/communication form.

  • Responsible for or assists with the daily and monthly billing operations according to specific site needs.

  • Assists Supervisor/Manager in preparing or completing mandatory reports, as needed.

  • Assists in requisition of office supplies and inventory monitoring and maintenance.

  • Responsible for distribution according to site needs.

  • Responsible for all reception and clerical needs.

  • Notifies immediate supervisor and other department personnel as needed of insurance/payor policy changes or other associated front office functions or changes.

  • Assists Manager/Supervisor in administrative duties as assigned.

  • Assists therapists in monitoring prescriptions, insurance coverage and any other related paperwork.

Minimum Position Qualifications:

Education : H.S. Diploma or GED or equivalent educ/experience

Experience : Front office experience in a medical setting.
