Providence RN Clinical Program Manager in Santa Monica, California
Providence is calling a RN Clinical Program Manager (Full-Time/Day S hift) to our Providence Saint Johns Medical Foundation in Santa Monica, CA.
We are seeking a RN Clinical Program Manager who will be responsible for collaboration, development, implementation and ongoing evaluation of programs / systems that enhance professional practice outcomes within the healthcare medical team. Share accountability for oversight of education, clinical practice and safety protocols in conjunction with implementation of new standards of care. Role models proactive, values driven working relationships across the organization in an interdisciplinary approach to patient care. Assure practice is in accordance with JCAHO standards, State and Federal regulatory criteria and professional practice / scope of practice. Develop effective relationships to lead, role model, collaborate and effectuate change. Participate and guide in the selection and hiring of key clinical positions within the division.
In this position you will:
Take direction from Clinical Operations and collaborates with operations for all clinical processes, competencies, safety, infection prevention, and clinical care initiatives to provide consistent practices and standards of care at assigned ministry.
Continually assess compliance and make recommendations regarding current policies, procedures, standards of care, education and safety practices so that they are consistent across the organization. (Promotes excellence in patient care / safety consistent with knowledge of NCQA, OSHA and governing regulatory agencies identified by practice standards, skill validation and proficiency of the staff.).
Facilitate / lead clinical competency program, work safety, patient safety, scope of practice compliance and initiates educational opportunities and staff development.
Communicate and interact effectively with supervisors, managers, directors and administration to assess and develop action plans to enhance clinical processes. Attend various meetings as appropriate and contributes ideas for improving efficiency, productivity, and patient satisfaction. Actively participates on committees.
Work collaboratively to enhance medical practice initiatives working to collect data, initiate methods for improvement and education for process changes involving clinical staff and providers.
Provide regular communication, providing staff with standards of performance, informing them of job expectations and evaluating their performance. Foster environment of continuous improvement. Provide direction, setting clear expectations, coaching and motivating direct reports in daily administration of their duties.
Participate / guide in recruitment, selection, training, discipline, discharge and development of clinical staff as needed. Utilize human resource tools for coaching process.
Develop goals and objectives for clinical departments and collaborates with onsite leadership to ensure goal appropriateness. Seek to understand and facilitate effective communication.
Conduct regularly scheduled meetings for distribution of information, training and collaboration.
Take initiative to identify problems within the department, analyze and recommend / implement appropriate action.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
Current State of California RN License.
Active BLS Certificate.
Valid California driver’s license.
Automobile insurance for employee-owned vehicles.
Five (5) years of Experience as a Registered Nurse including both areas of ambulatory care and acute care nursing. 7 years preferred.
Three (3) years of Supervisory/management experience in an ambulatory or acute care setting.
Basic computer skills including Microsoft Word, Windows, Excel, and an e-mail system.
Demonstrate a broad knowledge of nursing operations / professional practice and performance improvement and ability to apply this knowledge to situations / complex issues for continuous improvement.
Current knowledge in ambulatory care developing patient focused-teams.
Knowledge of regulatory requirements necessary to maintain current standards of practice within clinical scope of practice and safety programs.
Strong organization skills, proficient in computer skills / software programs.

Effectively builds relationships with staff / interacts frequently with staff to gain understanding of needs and foster individual staff development.
Demonstrates ability to work as a team member – seeks out and utilizes resources appropriately.
Ability to develop positive, productive working relationships with others.
Ability to work in a fast-paced department and handle multiple tasks, work with interruptions, and deal effectively with confidential information.
Be able to work effectively under pressure by prioritizing work activities and re-negotiating deadlines.
Effective documentation skills, critical thinking and problem solving skills.
Ability and willingness to travel between SJHH locations.
Demonstrates ability to work independently, evaluate, investigate and develop programs / policy and procedures for the enhancement of our organization.
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Master's Degree in Nursing.
Proficient in all MS Office applications preferred.
Bilingual English/Spanish communication skills preferred.
