We are seeking a Radiation Therapy Technologist who will administer prescribed dose of ionizing radiation according to physicians written prescription and established departmental policy and procedures. Perform adjuvant procedures which aid in the management of patient care.

In this position you will:

• Perform patient and department assessment

• Participate in goal directed plan based on outcomes

• Implement role based on department and hospital standards

• Participate in evaluating effectiveness of duties

• Participate in identifying patient/significant other learning needs and demonstrate measures to meet these

• Skin care management

• Delegate to appropriate team members

• Demonstrate applied knowledge when caring for selected patient populations including care appropriate to the age of patients served

• Demonstrate competency in selected skills including, but not limited to:

• Administer prescribed radiation therapy treatments to patients

• Fabricate immobilization devices.

• Calculate monitor units for treatment fields

• Perform dosimetry

• Perform patient teaching

• Use 2500 and 4/100 Linear Accelerator, including daily warm-up and QC

• Perform simulation

• Demonstrate responsibility and accountability for own professional practice in regards to:

• Attendance, punctuality, and confidentiality

• Positive public relation image and working relationships

• Obtaining necessary knowledge and skill needed to maintain competence

• Completing all mandatory requirements, including annual safety films, CPR, infection control and annual physical

• Participats in the development and attainment of team, department and hospital goals including:

• Attending and participating in team meetings

• Volunteering or accepting assignment for projects

• Mission, vision and team ground rules

• Demonstrate documentation on patient care records and unit forms

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

• Graduate of an approved American Registry of Radiologic Therapy Program or equivalent educ/experience

• Current California Registered Therapist License (C.R.T.) within the first three (3) months of employment

• Current American Registry Radiation Therapist License, (A.R.R.T.) within the first three (3) months of employment

• Ability to deal effectively with many people

• Excellent human relations and oral/written communication skills

• Must be able to prioritize, organize, and coordinate care

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

• One (1) year work experience
