Providence Health & Services Endoscopy Nurse Manager in Santa Monica, California
Providence is calling a Endoscopy Nurse Manager (Full time/Day shift) to Providence Saint John's Medical Foundation in Santa Monica , CA.
We are seeking a Endoscopy Nurse Manager who will be responsible for overseeing all business and clinical operations of the ambulatory surgical center. The Nurse Manager will have oversight over all regulatory and compliance requirements, will develop and maintain high quality patient-focused care in a cost-efficient manner. Mentor, develop and support all staff (clinical and non-clinical) to ensure the team has the necessary skill set and competency in providing exceptional quality care to our patient population while adhering to all best practice healthcare standards. Ensure all assigned duties are performed in a manner that promotes team concept to reflect the Providence Health & Services mission and philosophy. Collaborate with other RNs and/or practice managers when necessary to improve processes that will enhance the organization overall outcomes.
In this position you will:
Manage operations of the surgical center according to policies, protocols, orders, and regulations. Access and utilize comparative data and principles of continuous quality improvement to drive excellence at center
Work closely with Director and staff to assure all clinical aspects of care delivered meet established standards. Work with attending physicians and clinic staff to streamline operation efficiency, including standardizing operation workflow, staff resources, scheduling, patient care orders and protocols. Perform routine clinical rounds assessment on facility to ensure center meet and exceed all accreditation/reaccreditation parameters by governing bodies (e.g. Medicare)
Manage all employee relations and human resource activities (e.g., recruits, hires, trains, motivates individuals) to meet patient care needs within established budgets and staffing patterns; with the support from Human Resources department
Conduct regular staff meetings to enable effective communication
Delegate and direct staff to manage supplies and inventory to ensure all necessary supplies and equipment are available to meet patient care needs within set budget
Provide on-site support and direction to center staff so appropriate procedures are being followed for patient scheduling, registration, medical record documentation, billing and collections
Maintain professional expertise through appropriate educational experiences
Participate in program projects or work teams as requested
Manages own time, make informed decisions about where to invest efforts based on established priorities as demonstrated by completing assignments on time and communicating with customers and director regarding prioritization and target completion dates
Analyze, create and provide routine report out on center activities as directed
Strategize methods to meet monthly budget parameters, work with other team members/ manager to improve processes to increase clinic’s overall quality outcomes (including patient care satisfaction goals)
Provide a systematic approach in working with patient grievances and compliance team to resolve any patient care issues in line with organization’s policies and guidelines
Demonstrate positive interpersonal behavior when asked to participate in resolving situations experienced by others in department and/or volunteering time, knowledge and skills to others
Participate in related clinic operations meetings., if applicable
Performs other duties as requested
Required qualifications for this position include:
American Heart Association BLS certification
California Licensed Registered Nurse
3 years healthcare leadership and management experience in an ambulatory clinic or hospital setting required
3 years clinical experience in surgery or procedure healthcare including demonstrated knowledge of sterile technique, working with anesthetized patients, and other clinical situations found in a surgical or procedural setting
Possess a working knowledge of the legal and regulatory environment impacting ASC's, and the applicable standards of the AAAHC, The Joint Commission, and/or other regulatory bodies for ambulatory surgery centers
Requires strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal and analytical skills
Knowledge of health care environment, surgical center policies and procedures, general accounting procedures and human resource management practices
Familiarity with all applicable laws and regulatory standards for reaccreditation of center and accreditation processes
Ability to work independently in a fast paced environment with fluctuations in workload
Ability to manage multiple priorities and implement tasks without supervision
Ability to create, collaborate and maintain effective relationships with staff, physicians and all medical professionals in the healthcare settings
Ambulatory care experience
Experience with Electronic Medical Records, Windows and Excel-based software
