Kadlec has an exciting opportunity for a RN Life Safety Education Specialist to join our growing Education team located in Richland, Washington!
Shift Details: 1.0 FTE, Exempt, Full time, Days
Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited educational institution
3 years recent acute care Registered Nurse experience
Current WA State RN Licensure
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from an accredited educational institution
1 year nursing education experience
1 year managerial, supervisory, or educational role experience
Life Safety, AHA ACLS and/or AHA PALS Instructor Certifications
Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
As a RN Life Safety Education Specialist you will coordinate and instruct life safety training programs for caregivers and the community; Serves as resource and subject matter expert on life safety education, including nurse safety education; Collaborates with clinical leaders and staff to ensure training objectives are identified and that regulatory and governing body requirements are met; and supports the duties of the RN Safety Education Coordinator.
Demonstrate and sustain compliance with Kadlec Caregiver Expectations Standards of Excellence and Code of Conduct.
Coordinate Life Safety Education classes (BLS, ACLS, PALS, etc.), including developing and updating class outlines and content, for Kadlec Regional Medical Center staff and community in alignment with governing and regulatory bodies (AHA, ENA, etc.).
Teach/facilitate/instruct life safety classes and workshops following the approved outlines.
Engage and coordinate other educators, as needed, to ensure life safety courses are taught per the identified calendar when a class cannot be taught by the Life Safety Education Specialist.
Evaluate education outcomes from classes to identify effectiveness and appropriateness; utilizes standard tools to evaluate performance.
Maintain and oversee training equipment and materials, ensuring supplies on hand meet the needs of the training schedule.
Develop class descriptions and supporting documentation to ensure courses meet continuing nurse education credit requirements for class participants.
