Kadlec has an exciting opportunity for a Clinical Educator to join our growing Clinical Education team located in Richland, Washington!
Shift Details: Full Time, 1.0 FTE. 10 hour variable shifts (primarily days). Shifts include weekends.
Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
Bachelor's Degree or in progress (to be completed within 5 years from date of hire into the position), from an accredited educational institution
Current WA State RN Licensure
Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS
Miniumn 2 years of PACU or ICU nursing expreince in an actue care (hospital) setting required.
Master's Degree accredited in educational institution
Bi-lingual or multi-lingual skills
Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
As a Clinical Educator you are responsible for the planning, organization, and implementation of staff orientation, competencies, and education in the department; Acts as a resource for provider, patient, and family education; and supports and demonstrates the Mission, Vision and Values of Kadlec Regional Medical Center.
Assesses the educational needs of staff.
Coordinates/provides educational/in-service programs based on nursing practice trends, new procedures, policies and procedures.
Coordinates the formulation of annual competencies for all staff members.
Maintains records of education and orientation.
Develops and coordinates a department orientation for new employees.
Develops and coordinates appropriate cross training programs for department staff.
Assists preceptors in providing an individualized orientation for new employees.
Serves as a resource to department staff and others in the acquisition of knowledge and skills related to nursing practice.
Acts as a liaison with nursing schools and other health care training programs.
Coordinates placement of students in the department as directed.
Participates in development of patient/family education materials and programs.
Assists in the development and implementation of policies, procedures and standards for the department.
Participates in unit and house wide performance improvement activities in order to improve patient care and comply with regulatory groups such as Leapfrog and Core Measures.
