Kadlec has an exciting opportunity for an EKG Technician to join our growing EKG team located in Richland, Washington!
Shift Details: Full time, 1.0, 40-hour week, Evening shift
H.S. Diploma or GED from an accredited educational institution.
Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS required.
Courses in office practices, medical terminology, and computer operation.
Medical setting, data entry, and processing experience.
Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
Under the general direction of the Coordinator, performs safe, quality electrocardiograms for patients as directed according to established standards and practices and assists physicians and/or their offices as required. Transport patient to the modalities from the floors. Prepare patients to come down.

Provides EKG studies using standardized lead placement technique to patients as ordered by physicians, in-patients and out-patients.
Identifies patient using established patient care protocols.
Identifies the need for personal protective equipment and uses them accordingly.
Identifies privacy needs of patients- i.e. family present, closing curtain.
Evaluates medical data on patient chart recognizing history, diagnosis, medications, and medical equipment being used that may affect the tracing.
Responds to medical emergencies within the Medical Center; code blue, code white (except for the Emergency Department), and “Transport Alerts.”.
Initiates charges of EKG studies.
Provides studies to reading cardiologist for interpretation by FAX machine or software.
Processes and distributes final reports to physicians and health information management.
Assists with care and maintenance of moderately expensive department equipment; cleaning, stocking, and minor repairs.
Orders and maintains stock levels of department supplies.
Refers defective equipment to Clinical Engineering, notifying the coordinator that equipment is out of service. Temporarily adjusts equipment location to provide coverage for service areas.
