Kadlec has an exciting opportunity for a Cook Assistant to join our growing Nutrition Services team located in Richland, Washington!
Shift Details : Full-Time, 1.0, 40 Hour Variable Shift
- Current Food Handler's Permit
High School Diploma or GED from an accredited educational institution.
6 months Cooking experience.
Hospital or nursing home cooking experience.
Bi-lingual or multi-lingual skills
Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
As a Cook Assistant you will be responsible for simple-step food preparation, tray line setup, and serving as well as short order cooking of foods for patients, catering or retail food service customers, acts in a manner that supports patient food safety, customer satisfaction, and departmental goals, and perform other duties as assigned.
Demonstrate and sustain compliance with Kadlec Caregiver Expectations Standards of Excellence and Code of Conduct.
Review menu, production sheet, and patient census with Cook to determine the types of quantities of food items to be prepared.
Ensure adequate food volumes for patients, retail spaces, child care center and room service, etc.
Review standardized recipes and takes instruction from the Cooks to prepare raw food and simple-step items for breakfast, lunch and dinner in accordance with defined meal programs.
Set up at stocking stations with all necessary supplies.
Support cook in completion of multi-step food production (portion and batch cooking) for distribution to patients or other retail spaces.
Apply knowledge of modified diets, food portions, food allergies and patients' personal needs appropriately during food preparation and service.
