Kadlec has an exciting opportunity for an Authorization Unit Representative to join our growing Central Scheduling team located in Richland, Washington!
Shift Details: Full-Time, 1.0, 40 Hour Variable Shift
H.S. Diploma or GED From an accredited educational institution.
One (1) year General office experience which includes public interaction.
Medical insurance experience.
Medical setting experience.
Bi-lingual or multi-lingual skills
Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
As an Authorization Unit Representative you will obtain third party payer authorizations, verifies coverage and benefit information. Consistently maintain compliance with department and payer regulations and requirements to ensure the facility optimum reimbursement, and performs related duties as assigned.

Reconcile daily inpatient, and ambulatory registration reports with pre-registration insurance verification forms to ensure all patient registrations are accurate and appropriate authorizations have been obtained.
Verify by telephone and/or internet eligibility and benefits for third party payer insurance from information provided on patient registration form.
Verify by telephone and/or internet that authorizations, pre-certifications, referrals and second opinions have been obtained for surgery and other procedures for admission; verifies if a preexisting clause is pertinent and takes appropriate action.
Research missing or inaccurate information to establish insurance eligibility and patient liabilities.
Update data in system for required and appropriate follow-up.
Receive patient type change notification and takes the action necessary to ensure third party payer care and coverage guidelines have been met.
Communicate in person and by telephone to patients, physician offices, third party payers and agencies information required and/or needed to complete the insurance verification and authorization.
