Providence St. Joseph Health is calling a Principal Integrated Talent Management (ITM) Consultant PSJH to our location in Irvine, CA or Renton, WA.

We are seeking a Principal Consultant ITM to provide expert level consultation to senior leaders and operational delivery staff. The Principal Consultant acts as a solutions architect taking caregiver/client input to design and deliver solutions that support ITM’s priorities and Providence’s strategic goals. The Principal Consultant directly supports the ITM field leader and the regional HR partner to identify and solve organizational issues and enable regional success, improve organizational talent health, and enable successful change. This individual will refine and implement strategic solutions working with the ITM Field Director and Centers of Expertise (COEs) to ensure successful development and implementation of key programs, processes and initiatives.

The Field Principal Consultant position reports to the Regional Director, ITM, and works in collaboration with regional business leaders, HR Leaders, ITM Centers of Expertise (e.g. Talent Management, Leadership Development, Caregiver Experience, etc.) and ITM Operations to align needs to the strategies of Providence and the region. Must establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff at all levels in Providence Shared Services, as well as with other Providence staff, vendors and agents.

  • Partners with the Regional ITM Director to help define organization and talent strategies for assigned regions. Uses system, regional, and ITM strategies to advise on, design, and implement appropriate solutions.Evaluates the effectiveness of solutions to ensure the organization is achieving the desired outcomes.

  • Under guidance from the Regional ITM Director, provides expert-level consultation and implementation support to assigned regions and regional business leaders in the areas of organizational strategy and design, change management, talent management, leadership development, caregiver engagement and experience, and professional development.

  • Supports, and when needed leads, project delivery, talent management and leadership development work and processes under the direction of the Regional ITM Director.

  • Is responsible for a full suite of services, working at the system, region and executive levels. Able to work with Sr HR partners and regional management as a subject matter expert and consultant, establishing a trusted advisor status with our c-suite executives.

  • Has the ability to adapt, drive and influence solutions that align with our organizational goals and strategies. Perseveres when working through and driving new ideas and solutions with a thorough understanding of how to enable successful change and act as a change agent/champion to help bring the workforce to the desired future state and sustain adoption.

In this position you will have the following responsibilities:

Overall:

  • Provide expert level strategic consulting capability – (understand business strategy/ assess presenting and latent challenges/opportunity/ appropriately scope and align solutions/develop effective implementation plans/ identify and track success measures/adjust course as necessary)

  • Partner with our Centers of Expertise (Executive Talent Management, Caregiver Experience, Leadership Development, Caregiver Development and Change Management) to help shape and implement system-wide offerings, key initiatives and processes.

  • Create or contribute to the talent, leadership development and caregiver experience strategies for a region/business line and/or ministry/function. Use the strategy as the driving force to advise on, design, and implement solutions partnering with regional HR partners, executive leadership teams and the Centers of Expertise.

  • Understand and analyze data and success measures to determine effectiveness of talent, leadership and caregiver experience solutions within the region.

  • Build strategic solutions that will support needs with success metrics for evaluation and ROI.

  • Be the primary point of contact for assigned organizations for all of our ITM services.

More specifically:

Talent

  • Facilitate and/or participate in regional/business line/functional/ministry talent review processes to identify high potential talent and successors. Help identify talent gaps and develop appropriate talent management interventions; craft solutions and strategies to support accelerated development opportunities for these populations as appropriate, based on Talent Review data.

  • Work with ministry executives to design and facilitate team development frameworks and sessions.

  • Be familiar with high potential and key talent

Caregiver Experience

  • Partner with HR and regional/business line/functional/ministry leadership teams to build effective strategies to drive caregiver engagement.Proactively access and analyze survey results and other pertinent data to develop an informed and targeted approach.

  • Understand where the “hot spots”, “bright spots” and other trends are within the region and your assigned organizations and partner with ministry executive leadership teams to ensure they have the appropriate plans/interventions in place

Leadership & Caregiver Development

  • Help assess the development needs of our caregivers and leaders and work with our COEs to develop appropriate interventions / learning experiences.

Organizational Design and Change Management

  • Understand the business priorities and strategies and how to support the design and evolution of the organization’s operating model, organizational model, roles, responsibilities, programs and processes to enable success against those priorities. Understand the system/regional/ministry goals and objectives in these areas and partner to develop and implement appropriate solutions

  • Support the change management planning and implementation for your region, with particular emphasis on large / complex initiatives that support organizational transformation.

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Organization Development, Industrial Psychology, Human Resources, Business Administration or equivalent education/experience.

  • 8 years practitioner with demonstrated ability to add value to strategic objectives of an organization using a variety of talent management and learning & development methodologies.

  • 5 years demonstrated expertise in a broad range of talent development methods, and in the design, implementation, and execution of development solutions across a variety of functions.

  • 5 years experience with all aspects of talent including Performance Management, Strategic Workforce development, Talent scorecard/succession, Accelerated Development and Learning.

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Master's Degree in Business, Organizational Psychology.

  • Certification in Strategic Workforce Planning (SWP), Human Capital Strategist (HCS), or other relevant certification program.

  • Proven project management skills: assessment, design, and implementation of large scale complex projects.

  • Proven ability working with C- suite executives focused on executive development, succession, talent and learning solutions. Ability to work as a trusted advisor within the talent space to support the implementation of key talent and learning programs.

  • Can operate independently, and uses a high degree of innovation, creativity, and resourcefulness when providing solutions. Is a “doer” and proactively can act as a practitioner when needed, developing solutions, influencing, building readiness and consulting at the highest level.

  • Advanced level facilitation skills, is a Subject Matter Expert for leading, mentoring, and upskilling of delivery staff including HR professionals, cross functional core leaders and other to help deploy new solutions.
