Providence Health & Services Manager, Cloud Database Operations PSJH in Renton, Washington
Providence St. Joseph Health is calling Manager, Cloud Database Operations PSJH to our location in Renton, WA; Redmond, WA or Portland,OR.
We are seeking a Manager, Database Operations PSJH to be accountable for the design and service delivery of all database technology , and the ongoing maintenance required to sustain, stablize, and secure the environment, as well as expected service levels for our caregivers. Will develop and maintain processes, procedures, and KPI's needed to deliver standardized and stable services.
This role is also responsible for maintaining accurate asset inventory data for the systems within the leaders area of responsibility.
Works collaboratively with internal IS teams and external vendors to provide highly available, secure, and reliable infrastructure services.
In this position you will have the following responsibilities :
Developing, building, and sustaining strong working relationships and partnerships with IT customers.
Partner with peers from Engineering, Architecture & Strategy, Applications, and other PSJH teams to optimize production systems to improve the caregivers' experience with PSJH technology.
Maintain currency on information technology in general and accountable disciplines in particular. Continually evaluates the effectiveness of current strategies, technology and standards, recommending enhancements and modifications through established collaboration mechanisms.
Attract, hire, train, motivate, retain, and develop a team of first-rate professionals to perform the responsibilities of the various functions under their leadership.
Work with IS leaders across PSJH, assists in defining service models and reporting mechanisms for accountable disciplines as a part of overall PSJH IS service design. Implements, maintains, and operates departmental Service Level Agreements, Operating Level Agreements, and associated KPIs.
Monitor the performance of the accountable disciplines and evaluates the performance of technology services on the basis of specific KPIs.
Implement and monitor compliance with policies and procedures for storage systems, consistent with overall strategy and standards, throughout PSJH.
Management of key vendor relationships.
Provide estimates, forecasting and work planning assistance.
Oversee procurement of software & hardware, and management of IT storage assets and inventory.
Serve as Sponsor and/or Owner, as appropriate, for technology projects and initiatives within areas of accountability
Ensure that direct reports are meticulous in executing changes, and maintaining the environment, and other defined areas.

Maintain the strict confidentiality of all information, including financial/operational, employee/human resource, healthcare/patient data and information.
Partner with the entire IS leadership team for disaster recovery architecture, projects, and policies and participates in disaster drills.
Required qualification for this position includes:
Associate Degree in Information Services; Business, Healthcare, or Public Administration; or IS Field or equivalent education/experience.
4 years Information Services technical leadership experience in leading IS infrastructure operations teams.
6 years hands on technical experience in at least one of the following disciplines: Network, Server, or Storage.
Preferred qualification for this position includes:
Experience managing a large Azure database estate – SQL Server, some Oracle
Experience migrating databases from on-premise datacenters to Azure
Solid understanding of the software delivery lifecycle
Experience operating in an Agile methodology
Understanding of automated cloud infrastructure tooling; Ansible, Terraform
Eagerness to learn emerging cloud-based solutions
A love of data and using it to make data-driven decisions
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent education/experience.
