Providence Study Start-up Specialist - Program Development Cancer in Portland, Oregon


Providence is calling a Study Start-up Specialist - Program Development Cancer (1.0 FTE, Days) to Providence Portland Medical Center in Portland , OR

We are seeking a Study Start-up Specialist - Program Development Cancer that will function under the supervision of the Research Program Manager, assisting with study start-up and ongoing document management. This includes, but is not limited to: completion and distribution of start-up forms; coordination, tracking, and follow-up of internal start-up processes; professional communication with both internal and external customers; and ongoing document management for the Providence Cancer Institute's clinical research department.

In this position you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Support the Program Managers (PMs) in the completion, collection, tracking, submission, and filing of required forms and other start-up documents

  • Coordinate and tracks internal department study start-up processes, regularly providing status updates to the PMs

  • Establish and maintain electronic filing system and naming conventions for all study start-up documents

  • Establish and maintain organizational structure and efficient processes for ongoing study document management

  • Communicate key study information to appropriate parties (both internal and external)

  • Enter study information and tracks study statuses in Clinical Trials Management System


Required qualifications for this position includes:

  • High School Diploma -OR- GED or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Two (2) years of Document management or relevant administrative/clerical/office experience

  • Advanced level proficiency in Microsoft software applications (mainly Word and Excel) and demonstrated proficient computer keyboard skills, Internet document sharing programs/sites, and the use of technology in general

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • Healthcare and/or research experience
