Providence is calling a Senior Manager Communications Providence Health Plan to our location in Portland, OR.
We are seeking a Senior Manager Communications Providence Health Plan to be accountable for leading strategic communications internally and externally for Providence Health Plan and its affiliates. This is inclusive of developing plans as well as tactical execution that are aligned with and support organization-wide strategy, planning and delivery of communication initiatives in support of business initiatives. The Senior Manager delivers consistent, clear messaging to all Providence Health Plan audiences while collaborating to ensure alignment across all business areas, including regional delivery and Providence system. This role resides within the Product Development, Marketing & MCO division and serves as the main point of contact for the external communications agency of record.
In this position you will:
Support strategy, planning and execution for communication plans and programs, major organizational campaigns and initiatives related to public relations, reputation management, organizational communication, social media and executive communication.
Proven ability to work independently writing, creating and implementing high-quality communication plans, messaging and copy that meets PSJH standards.
Oversee, manage and measure effectiveness of key communication projects and initiatives, including employee/caregiver communication, executive communication, public relations, media relations, issues/crisis management, thought leadership and social media/ influencer strategies to promote and enhance the reputation of PSJH and our family of organizations.
Support and enhance the quality of all communication tools and channels to ensure communication is delivered consistently and proactively to all caregivers. Support measureable improvement in caregiver engagement, based on established standards.
Ensure the organizational voice and narrative, and Mission, Vision, and Values of PSJH, including the culture and charisma of our founding congregations, are present in all communication efforts.
Reinforce, enhance and grow the organizational voice and narrative of Providence St. Joseph Health through consistent, proactive communication sharing. Reinforce and strengthen our identity as a Catholic health care ministry.
Ensure communications are reflective of the Providence Mission Vision and Values
Ensure alignment of organizational and region/ministry messaging and communication programs. Manage, monitor and improve the delivery of information and messaging to caregivers and other audiences.
Work closely with marketing and communication leadership at the system and regional level to coordinate messaging and positioning across audiences.
Perform and manage to budget and sustainability goals.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor's Degree in Communication, Public Relations, Marketing, Business Administration, or related field
5 years demonstrated management experience in leading broad-based and successful communication programs
Demonstrated experience managing communication programs and business relationships
Demonsrated experience working in highly matrixed and geographically dispersed organizations and teams
Demonstrated writing and editing experience. Demonstrated health care experience
Deep knowledge of integrated health care and communication practices
Self-starter, strategic thinker with ability to flawlessly execute
Ability to create strong, strategic business relationships with senior executives and board leadership at both the organizational and region/ministry level
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
2 years Communication experience in health care
2 years experience in a faith-based organization
