Providence St. Joseph Health is calling a Manager Provider Recruitment for Provider Solutions & Development to our location in Portland, OR. The Provider Recruitment Manager PS&D will manage and participate in all Provider Recruitment activities within the Oregon Region. Lead and develop high performing staff who recruit for multiple physician and provider specialties, with a system-wide scope. Extend employment brand through recruitment of the highest quality, mission-inspired medical staff. Continually seek to improve and deliver processes, outcomes, and customer evaluation of the Provider Solutions & Development experience.
In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
Manage development and recruitment functions of staff for all physician, executive physician leaders, physician assistant, nurse practitioner, and academic/faculty physician position within assigned regions. Measure performance and productivity, take action to improve results as needed, and provide recognition and support to staff.
Develop capabilities of recruitment and support staff, building on individual interests, skills, and competencies. With an eye on retention and succession, create environment of continuous learning, improvement, and development.
Develop business plans and direct various projects related to physician recruitment, physician support services and operational excellence aligning with service line leaders and regional medical group teams throughout region. Oversee and participate in negotiations of physician contracting, compensation, service and practice agreements, strategic planning and development of new clinical services, physician practice start up support, etc.
Oversee development of provider recruitment infrastructure and lead planning, implementing and orchestrating provider recruitment activities.
Shape recruitment philosophy and consult on physician development/recruitment plans throughout region.
Responsible for strategic development of mechanisms to ensure a continual pipeline of high quality, excellent providers.
Maintain working knowledge of all practice opportunities as well as awareness of critical needs supported by Provider Solutions & Development.
On occasion partner with Regional Leadership to assist with high level negotiations and physician contracts.
Prepare and adhers to budget for Physician Recruitment cost center(s).
Ensure development of close ties to resident and fellowship training programs (particularly PH&S programs) as a recruitment source.
Direct and/or participate in various projects related to provider recruitment and operational excellence.
Work with the Director of Physician Recruitment and other Recruitment Leadership to define and prioritize recruitment objectives, develop tracking and reporting mechanisms and develop and maintain partner relationships.
Develop and maintain relationships with physicians and group administrators for region.
Recruit, train, and manage recruitment staff as part of ongoing staffing strategy.
Assure integrity and consistency of provider recruitment systems, processes and policies, working closely with others to implement changes to practices as needed to meet organizational, regulatory, or legal requirements.
Effectively balance standardization and efficiency of operations with creative solutions to individual or collective partner needs. Work with partner leadership teams to understand, calibrate and exceed expectations.
Manage provider recruitment staff located across geographic regions; ensure cooperative, collaborative or team approaches are utilized as appropriate to accomplish objectives and provide a supportive work environment.
Promote and exhibit sensitivity and respect for diverse cultural and religious beliefs and directly supports and advocates for hiring a diverse workforce.
R equired qualifications for this position include:
BS or BA degree or 5 to 8 years experience in business, human resources, management or health-related field.
Active participation and/or membership in one or more physician recruitment special interest groups (e.g., AAPPR, NAPR, etc.).
5 to 8 years in physician recruitment required including executive physician recruitment and hard to fill positions requiring deep sourcing.
2 to 5 years manager-level experience in physician development/recruitment.
Strong leadership ability and expertise in development and articulation of a vision and strategic direction
Outstanding interpersonal relationship development ability as well as verbal and written communication skills, public relations and sales skills
Strong knowledge of physician practice operations
Strong negotiation contracting skills
Experience with working with fraud, abuse and inurement laws
Experience with laws related to recruitment and employment, including immigration and private practice support relationships
Proven experience in development of systems, structures, and people
Experience employing a variety of recruiting approaches to achieve recruiting objectives (e.g., online media, referral programs, job fair events, collateral, social networking, national society conference recruitment, email broadcasts, cold calling, etc.)
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Masters degree in related field.
CPR or other industry certification helpful.
Project management experience.
