Providence Manager - Clinical Documentation Management Program in Portland, Oregon
Providence is calling a Manager - Clinical Documentation Management Program to Providence Oregon as this position will cover 6 minisitries across Oregon. This is a full-time (1.0 FTE), day shift position.
We are seeking Manager Clinical Documentation Management Program who will provide a key role in leading, facilitating and managing in the Oregon Region.
The Manager assists the Oregon Region Directors of Quality Management in support of programs by providing ongoing assessment and evaluation of hospital activities related to communication and documentation of patient clinical conditions in a variety of clinical settings. Accomplishes results through multiple experienced individual staff members who exercise latitude and independence in their assignments. Fosters team collaboration, sharing of workload and enhanced productivity.
This role provides direction for and leadership to the large team of RNs the in the care of patients by facilitating allocation of resources related to a pre-determined set of criteria. The ongoing communication ensures that the documentation of patient assessment and care and treatment clearly reflects severity of illness. In turn, advocates for full and adequate resource allocation, which is beneficial to the organization where patients receive care.
Leadership in a program which will need constant positive communications with hospital leaders, medical staff members and clinical staff.
Developing interpersonal communication skills among team members as CDMP processes develop, which promotes trust, learning, recognizing and building on individual strengths.
Maintaining knowledge and skill base in a rapidly changing and pluralistic medical healthcare and reimbursement environment.
Effectively managing multiple competing priorities.
In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
Direct and lead the accomplishment of program results through a team of experienced contributors who exercise latitude and independence in their assignments.
Is accountable for ensuring that productivity standards, goals and objectives are met. Maintains budget expectations.
Apply concepts of the nursing process, such as identification of disease, facilitation of healing, health promotion, illness prevention and patient care delivery to each task, clinical review and or quality improvement project.
Responsible for success and achievement of defined goals and objectives for programmatic success with Clinical Documentation Improvement in the Oregon Region.
Provide oversight and act as a resource for all CDMP teams in Oregon Region.
Provide intense day-to-day oversight of the hospital CDMP staff members.
Manage multiple priorities.
Function as the CDMP Steering Committee leader, and attend Task Force meetings and Liaison between these committees.
Promote positive work environment, demonstrates and facilitates excellence in communication skills with leadership team, colleagues, patients and families.
Responsible for hiring, performance management and annual evaluations for CDI staff members; provides team with ongoing feedback.
Create, distribute, facilitate understanding of, and facilitate action plans for CDMP reports.
Collaborate with HIM leadership to utilize ICD-10 hospital coding policies, procedures and federal and state coding reimbursement guidelines.
Provide necessary feedback and conflict resolution to CDMP team, which includes the development of strategies that address resistance to the program.
Demonstrate understanding and utilization of tones, tools and behaviors that promote patient safety in a highly reliable organization.
Promote CDMP and maintain active support by Oregon Region administrators.
Lead and coordinate assignments of duties to include performance improvement activities in Clinical Documentation Improvement program.
Required qualifications for this position includes:
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
Clinical Documentation Management Program training
Current, unencumbered Oregon State Nursing license
5 years recent acute care experience
Critical care or strong med/surgical background
Progressive leadership experience
Organization, analytical, and writing skills
