Providence Laboratory IT Interface Analyst in Portland, Oregon


Providence is calling a Laboratory IT Interface Analyst to the Regional Core Lab (1.0 FTE, Days) located at the Providence Office Park in Portland, OR.

This position will be virtual working from home and eventually hybrid working in the office. Monday- Friday.

We are seeking a Laboratory IT Interface Analyst that will support the laboratory staff and clients. The position has both developmental and maintenance components. The position facilitates communication between Providence Regional Information Services Department (IT) and the Regional Laboratory and its clients in Oregon. Primarily supports the non-clinical systems that provide information and send results to various laboratory customers.

In this position you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Prepare and process business and technical intake needs for Outreach Interface Projects

  • Provide basic technical support and consultation for standard Laboratory IT products

  • Act as a resource for such

  • Identify and troubleshoot basic Lab customer IT equipment problems (label printers, laboratory software, laboratory printers, etc.) that may require site visits to client locations

  • Identify and triages issues to appropriate internal IT resources or external vendors. Keeps clients/users informed of problem progress

  • Work in conjunction with PHS IT with outside vendors and/or consultants to resolve issues and or implement new systems or technologies

  • Provide professional training to clients/users on electronic laboratory systems as needed for outreach interface implementation

  • Provide detailed documentation of training and troubleshooting processes


Required qualifications for this position includes:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Related field (i.e. Healthcare, Laboratory, or IT) -OR- equivalent education/experience

  • One (1) year of Industry related experience in healthcare, laboratory, or Information Technology

  • Valid driver's license

  • Reliable transportation

Preferred qualifications for this position includes:

  • MT, MLT and/or IT Certification

  • Healthcare and/or IT customer service experience
