Providence is calling a Infusion Pharmacy Tech–Mixing - Home Services Home Infusion (1.0 FTE, Variable) to Providence Home Service Building in Portland, OR

We are seeking a Infusion Pharmacy Tech–Mixing - Home Services Home Infusion that will be responsible for IV admixture, distribution of medications and supplies, and providing quality customer service. These duties are performed under the immediate supervision and control of a licensed pharmacist.

In this position you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Prepare sterile compounded non-hazardous sterile products in cleanrooms

  • Prepare sterile compounded hazardous sterile products in Biological Safety Cabinet (BSC)

  • Prepare sterile compounded Total Parenteral Nutritions (TPNs) using automated compounding device

  • Assist in stock and inventory control to maintain an adequate supply on hand

  • Perform calculations to determine required volumes of drug to deliver correct dosage

  • Complete appropriate documentation per policy, state and federal regulations/guidelines

  • Dispose of all waste in accordance with state and federal regulations

  • Clean and maintain cleanrooms in accordance with policy, state and federal regulations/guidelines

  • Pull and pack drug and supplies for shipment

  • Assist with the shipment of packages

  • Assist in stock and inventory control to maintain an adequate supply on hand

  • Check inventory of drugs and solutions for outdates and removes or recycles

  • Access Pyxis CII safe per policy. Corrects any discrepancies upon discovery. Informs supervisor of any irresolvable discrepancies/unusual occurrences

  • Communicate effectively and appropriately with leadership, pharmacists, nurses, technicians, billing specialists, support staff and external customers to facilitate accurate, safe and effective care for patients

  • Train new personnel in respective areas of the pharmacy

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position includes:

  • High School Diploma -OR- GED

  • Current Oregon Board of Pharmacy Certified Technician License

  • One (1) year (2080 clock hours) of pharmacy technician experience

Preferred qualifications for this position includes:

  • Coursework/Training: Graduate of a Pharmacy Technician Program

  • Inpatient -OR- Home Infusion experience

  • Experience with Pyxis CII Safe
