Providence is calling a Clinical Data Analyst - Nursing Service Administration (1.0 FTE, Days) to Providence Portland Medical Center in Portland, OR
We are seeking a Clinical Data Analyst - Nursing Service Administration that will
provide in-depth statistical and analytical support for nursing quality, patient safety goals, practice and process improvement supporting the organization's Magnet journey of nursing excellence. Responsible for gathering data, planning and on-going coordination of database design, database management, statistical analysis, data interpretation/evaluation and reporting/presentation to support clinical practice and organizational priorities. Directly supports a number of improvement projects through gathering data in order to assist in developing outcome measures, methodology and data analysis. Works collaboratively with users of clinical information systems to enhance data query reports. Produces graphic data displays to meet ongoing benchmark requirements.
In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
Gather/retrieve data from source systems in order to support data analysis and reporting requirements
Design, coordinate, and manage complex databases and data management tools that are flexible, efficient and easy-to-use
Mentor and promote utilization of these databases
Perform advanced statistical analysis and interpretation
Prepare reports and presentations, both written and graphic, within established timelines for ongoing Magnet and outcome reporting requirements
Coordinate and assist nursing department managers and team leaders in developing appropriate data collection methodologies and in preparing effective and meaningful reports related to quality improvement activities
Continually evaluate and refine on-going data collection activities, reports and presentations to assure data integrity and to best meet the requirements of the data's end-users
Develop and design advanced reports and automated reporting from the appropriate systems
Develop standard reports to be refreshed by department administrative assistants
Develop processes and formats to provide on-line access to reports.
Maintain project assignments and responsibilities, track project progress, and monitor timelines.
Assure confidentiality and security of data and reports
Participate in cross-functional teams and committees on local levels
Participate in on-going workshops/training, literature review, and professional networking in an effort to continually upgrade skills
Act as a liaison with Quality Management, Clinical Informatics, Program Management, Clinical Excellence, as needed
Required qualifications for this position includes:
Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare, Business, Statistics, -OR- related field
Two (2) years of Healthcare experience working with various spreadsheet, database and EMR software
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
- Master's Degree in Healthcare, Business, Statistics, -OR- related field
