Providence Health & Services Director of Finance, Ambulatory Care Network (ACN) PSJH in Oregon
Providence is seeking a Director of Finance to support the continued growth of the Ambulatory Care Network (ACN). While the preference is for candidates local to the Greater Seattle area, this role is open to candidates who reside in Alaska, Washington, Montana, Oregon or California who are open to travel to any of the Providence locations on an occasional basis for meetings.
The Director of Finance, Ambulatory Care Network will primarily be responsible for leading the finance support for new business opportunities and external partnerships within the division. The Ambulatory Care Network is one of the newest lines of business (LOB) within Providence with the objective of personalizing the care experience, designing convenient, connected services and creating affordable access for all. It is comprised of Express Care, Urgent Care, Ambulatory Surgery Centers, Ambulatory Imaging, Wellness/Fitness, and Employer-focused solutions, with plans to expand into other areas that meet our strategic objectives. The Director of Finance will be responsible for supervising the Finance activities supporting several existing partner relationships as well as working with the Operations and Growth teams to evaluate new opportunities. These activities will include oversight of analytics, support for monthly close process, pro forma development for new business opportunities, long range and capital planning, forecasting, operational budgeting as well as other reporting as requested by either ACN or system leadership. The Director will oversee staffing assigned to such functions and will coordinate these activities with the finance leads and personnel embedded in service areas across the Providence system. The ACN is a rapid growth environment, seeking to more than double our number of sites within the next 5 years. The division functions with a startup approach within the eco system of a $25B company. The team is seeking a dynamic Director of Finance to help create the strategic framework for the organization’s growth.
In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
Assist the ACN Chief Financial Officer and Senior Operational Leaders in financial oversight of assigned pillars and projects.
Perform all duties in a manner that promotes the mission, vision and values of Providence.
Monitor financial performance of the pillars and relationships to ensure achievement of financial targets.
Assist in the production of accurate financial statements, reflective of operational and clinical services provided at assigned ministries, inclusive of contractual analysis, recording of other net income, and accurate accrual of all expenses.
Assist in the review and monitoring of statistical information in order to accurately reflect operational and clinical services.
Collaborate with ACN, Physician Enterprise, and regional finance teams in the budget and strategic financial planning process for assigned pillars.
Work with other ACN finance team members, departmental managers and senior leaders to perform budget variance analysis and to develop and implement improvement plans.
Lead monthly business reviews with financial and operations leaders for one or multiple areas within ACN.
Develop pro forma modeling, scenario analysis, capital plans and qualitative assessment of growth opportunities
Partner with the Growth & Partnerships team to manage existing relationships and evaluate opportunities.
Support the professional development of staff and provide guidance in the execution of their responsibilities.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance related field
10 years supervision of finance staff experience
10 years related finance experience
Ability to analyze information, evaluate results to choose the best solution and solve problems.
Demonstrated problem solving skills
Knowledge of financial principles and practices and the ability to apply them effectively.
Excellent collaboration and team building skills.
Ability to effectively build relationships with customers, executive management, and other stakeholders through positive interaction and problem identification and resolution.
Working knowledge of desktop software applications (e.g., MS Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, Internet, Email).
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
