St. Joseph Health / Covenant Health Unit Secretary - Behavioral Health, Outpatient in Orange, California

Our team is looking for an experienced Unit Secretary to join our Behavioral Health Outpatient Unit at St. Joseph Hospital of Orange. This is a part time, 8-hour day shift for a total of 40 biweekly hours.
In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
Perform a variety of routine clerical and reception duties, including answering phones and scheduling as needed.
Man the nursing station, admit patients.
Requisition supplies, equipment and services from other departments.
Consistently demonstrate behaviors that model the SJHS core values and the Hospital’s mission statement.
Qualifications and Skills needed for this role:
High School Diploma or GED
At least 6 months of office/clerical experience
Ability to adapt to changing conditions and frequent interruptions.
Effective skills in communication, problem solving, interpersonal relationships and prioritization.
Knowledge of medical terminology
Positive, effective telephone skills. Must be able to answer calls promptly, speak clearly, and respond accurately to varying situations.
Basic knowledge of a windows computer system.
Ability to give and receive constructive feedback
Ability to work in a close, team environment.
- Clerical experience in a hospital/healthcare environment.
About the department you will serve:
Our Behavioral Health Outpatient Unit at St. Joseph Hospital of Orange is a smaller team consisting of all licensed clinicians (NP, RN, MFT, LCSW), and teamwork is essential given that everyone is part time. The ideal candidate for this position is organized, attentive to detail, creative/innovative but also willing to practice the current workflow. This person is a multitasker and willing to learn from current staff as well as contribute ideas after they understand the workflow.
