St. Joseph Health / Covenant Health Social Worker - Behavioral Health, Outpatient in Orange, California

Our team is looking for an experienced Social Worker to join our Outpatient Behavioral Health department at St. Joseph Hospital of Orange. This is a part-time, 8-hour day shift position with 80 hours in a biweekly pay period.
In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
Utilize knowledge of psychiatric and chemical dependency treatment and community resources in planning for the treatment of patients in various Behavioral Health Services programs.
Organize and lead groups and individual therapy sessions to meet the treatment needs of Behavioral Health Services patients.
Demonstrate respect and courtesy to all patients, staff, physicians and visitors.
Be a positive ambassador for the program to the rest of the Hospital and the Community.
Actively partner with supervisor to resolve problems until the best outcome is reached.
Participate in all required Hospital initiatives including mandatory training and certification, etc.
Demonstrate behaviors that exemplify the values and mission of St. Joseph Hospital.
Demonstrate an understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements for behavioral health and substance use disorders.
Qualifications and Skills needed for this role:
Master's Degree, PsyD, or PhD in Psychology.
Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT) license, or licensed Clinical Psychologist.
American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification for Healthcare Providers.
Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) certification (required within 90 days of hire).
Ability to access and evaluate community resources to meet patient's needs.
Knowledge of psychiatric/chemical dependency treatment modalities.
Knowledge of community housing and treatment resources for purposes of providing.
Ability to facilitate a variety of process oriented or didactic therapeutic groups.
Ability to function independently, assume assignments of the program and actively participate in the team process.
Ability to work collaboratively with treatment team.
Working knowledge of LPS mental health law and how to access these services for patients.
Understanding of expectations of the Office of Patients’ Rights.
Understanding of HIPAA requirements for mental health services.
Knowledge and understanding of DMH, Policy, Title 22 and TJC regulations.
Ability to work effectively under pressure due to changing priorities, interruptions, high and low census, payer demands, and discharge planning demands.
Ability to support and encourage positive working relationships within the department and across departments.
Two or more years of experience supporting an acute, psychiatric service in a hospital setting.
Two or more years in a position that required participation on an Interdisciplinary Treatment Team.

Our Behavioral Health Outpatient unit consists of all licensed professionals who operate very independently and autonomously but also come together as a team to collaborate in teamwork situations and patient care. We are looking for a licensed therapist with excellent clinical skills who enjoys the group therapy setting. This position will require good social skills and compassion toward patients. The ideal candidate will encompass excellent communication, both verbal and written, and facilitates care along a continuum through effective resource coordination.
