Our team is looking for a Respiratory Care Practitioner to join our Respiratory Care Services department at St. Joseph Hospital of Orange. This is an on call/per diem position, providing coverage for the night shift (12-hour shifts).
Delivers care consistent with department policies and procedures.
Utilizes all medications and devices safely in accordance with approved standards of care.
Demonstrates ability to assess and interpret age specific data in order to provide for/ meet age specific needs.
Educate patients, families, and healthcare providers in all aspects of respiratory care.
Demonstrates attitude of cooperation and professionalism when working both inside and outside of the department.
Is knowledgeable of, observes and complies with hospital codes of Safe Practice, Safety policies, and Emergency procedures.
Utilizes life support and all equipment properly within the hospital per manufacturer requirements.
Demonstrates the ability to evaluate a situation from many perspectives and considers various alternatives and chooses a course of action consistent with hospital/ department policies.
Participates and accepts new procedures willingly, evaluates new techniques and equipment as introduced/requested.
Ability to communicate professionally.
Exercises critical thinking skills in an environment that includes varying, unpredictable, and crisis circumstances.
Data entry skills.
Education: Graduate of a Respiratory Therapy Program providing clinical rotations in acute care settings.
Experience: See Education.
License and Certification:
Current California RCP license.
Current BLS certification.
Current ACLS certification.
Current PALS certification.
MAB certification obtained within 60 days of hire.
