St. Joseph Health / Covenant Health Rehabilitation Services Aide - Physical Therapy in Orange, California

Our team is looking for a Rehabilitation Services Aide to join our Physical Therapy department at St. Joseph Hospital of Orange. This is a part time, 8-hour day shift for a total of 56 biweekly hours (must have weekend availability).

In this position you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Provide direct patient care services under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse, physical or occupational therapist in all assigned areas.

  • Perform observation of patient response to services and communication of observations of patient needs.

  • Assist with patient, family, peer and community education.

  • Consistently demonstrate behaviors that model the SJHS core values and the Hospital’s mission statement.

Qualifications and Skills needed for this role:

Required qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent education.

  • Current Basic Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (Class C).

  • Ability to speak and write in English.

  • Computer literacy in Windows based applications.

  • Knowledge of the general provisions of the Physical Therapy Practice Act and the Ethical Code of the American Physical.

  • Ability to lead and delegate tasks.

  • Critical thinking skills.

  • Organizational and prioritization skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bilingual (English, Spanish, or Vietnamese).

  • Six months of experience in any capacity in an acute care hospital.

  • Six months of experience as an employee in a rehabilitation environment.

  • Certification as an aide (in any rehabilitation capacity) or a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) issued by an accredited institution.

  • Completion of American Red Cross First Aide Program.

  • Currently enrolled in a training program leading to licensure as a rehabilitation professional or similar worker.

About the department you will serve:

The Inpatient Rehabilitation department at St. Joseph Hospital of Orange is a very collaborative, close knit department made up of 16 Physical Therapists, 4 PT assistants, 13 Occupational Therapists, and 3 Speech Therapists. The ideal candidate for this position is interested in pursuing a career in health care and able to perform heavy lifting of patients.
