The Registered Nurse independently uses the nursing process to safely, therapeutically and efficiently care for a group of patients. Uses information from a variety of sources, including Jean Watsons Theory of Human Science and Caring to assess, plan, implement, identify outcomes and evaluate patient’s plan of care. The Registered Nurse oversees the duties and competencies of the healthcare team; these include the performance of nursing assistant duties, clerical, food service, and environmental services duties as applicable. The Registered Nurse will practice in accordance with all regulatory, professional, legal, and hospital policies. Consistently demonstrates behaviors that model the SJHS core values and the Hospital’s mission statement.
REGISTERED NURSE II : Competent clinician provides care in a skilled and effective manner, utilizing appropriate technical and decision making skills.
The Emergency Care Center of our Emergency Department is one of the busiest in Southern California yielding over 80,000 annual adult and pediatric patient visits. The department has recently completed the first phase of renovation to expand with four (4) new minor treatment rooms adding to our compliment of 53 treatment beds, 8 Fast Track beds as well as 14 beds in our Psychiatric Emergency Clinical Decision unit. We are a primary stroke center as designated by the Joint Commission and are designated by Orange County EMS as a Paramedic/EMS, Stroke and Chest Pain Receiving Center. We are a Magnet designated facility and the Emergency Care Center serves as a primary entry source for our cardiac center of excellence where we perform TAVR and Mitral Clip procedures.
- Graduate of school of nursing or enrolled in an accelerated program leading to BSN or MSN degree
- One (1) year recent clinical Registered Nurse experience.
Current California Registered Nursing License.
Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider.
Current American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
Current American Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
One (1) year recent Emergency Department Registered Nurse experience.
Bilingual English/Spanish or English/Vietnamese
