St. Joseph Health / Covenant Health Maintenance Technician - Plant Maintenance in Orange, California

Our team is looking for an experienced Maintenance Technician to join our Plant Maintenance department at St. Joseph Hospital of Orange. This is a full-time position and the schedule will consist of 8-hour day shifts for a total of 80 biweekly hours..

In this position you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Perform servicing, maintenance, repair and modification of hospital equipment and physical plant.

  • Consistently function in an environment that includes varying, unpredictable circumstances while exercising appropriate interpersonal and critical thinking skills.

  • Perform and/or suggest innovative solutions and alternative means to accomplish tasks.

  • Consistently demonstrate behaviors that model the SJHS core values and the Hospital’s mission statement.

Qualifications and Skills needed for this role:

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma (or GED).

  • Six to twelve months of experience in maintenance, construction or trade related field.

  • Trade school and/or maintenance techniques and procedures training.

  • Knowledge of safety measures in the use of hand tools and power tools.

  • Ability to interpret documents such as safety rules, operating procedures and maintenance instructions.

  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

  • Demonstrate the proper usage of tools and equipment in the performance of duties.

  • Ability to perform math, geometry and algebra problems including whole numbers, fractions and decimals.

  • Flexibility to work alternative schedules, shifts, callback, and overtime as needed.

  • Ability to adapt to changing conditions and frequent interruptions.

  • Demonstrate basic building knowledge of construction means & methods and building systems knowledge.
