St. Joseph Health / Covenant Health Anesthesia Technician - Operating Room in Orange, California

We are looking for a Anesthesia Technician for our Operating Room in our Main Hospital at St. Joseph Hospital of Orange.

Location: Orange, CA

Schedule: On Call / Per Diem

Shift: 8 Hour Day Shift

Job Summary:

Anesthesia Technician assists the Anesthesiologist in clinical settings such as: the Operating Room, Labor and Delivery, Interventional and Diagnostic Radiology, Endoscopy and Ambulatory Surgery Suites. The anesthesia tech must have a thorough knowledge of the set-up, operation and troubleshooting of anesthesia delivery systems, monitors and ancillary devices. Must demonstrate practical knowledge and expertise in all general areas of anesthesia, guidelines, policies and safety requirements as determined by all regulatory compliance organizations.

Skills:

  • Understands medical terminology as it relates to anesthesia patient care.

  • Understands basic aseptic technique, infection control, and standard precautions.

  • Understands limitations of roles or practice area.

  • Demonstrates an understanding of the anesthesia equipment and related supplies.

  • Ability to delegate responsibilities to other members of the anesthesia team.

  • Demonstrates ability to coordinate the daily routine of the technical anesthesia staff.

  • Maintains professional confidentiality.

    Position Requirements:

    Education: High-school graduate or equivalent

    Experience: 3 years experience as an Anesthesia Technician

    License/Certification: Basic Life Support

    Preferred Position Requirements:

    Education: Graduate of American Society of Anesthesia Technologist Program (ASATT)

    Experience: Knowledge of invasive line, set-up, and preparation

    License and Certificate: A.C.L.S.
