We are seeking a Diagnostic Imaging Assistant III who will assist the supervisor with the day-to-day workload in support of Diagnostic Imaging operations and facilitates communication with patients, department staff and other hospital departments and radiologists. The position performs a variety of duties to support the operation of the department, these include QA/QI activities through data collection and evaluation, spreadsheets and accessing RIS report writer. The position utilizes digital and Picture and Archiving Communication Systems (PACS) technology with the ultimate goal of accurate and efficient utilization of electronic/manual image and data storage, reporting and distribution methodologies. Participates in problem solving activities. Duties also consist of clerical process and involve reception, responding to inquiries, filing and retrieving films and records, purging, transferring film libraries, courier, transport, and clerical functions. Patient care functions involve assisting with radiographic exams, setting up rooms, equipment, and assisting patients. Assist the radiologists in execution of their duties by acting as resource person for timely, effective use of services, both in electronic and manual modalities. The Diagnostic Imaging Assistant III assists with the daily operations of the RIS; training of new staff on the system as well as supporting the existing staff in the every day operations.
In this position you will:
Performs Diagnostic Imaging department scheduling which involves radiology, CT, Nuclear Medicine, MRI Ultrasound, Endoscopy and Cardiology.
Directs day-to-day flow of support staff in their assigned functions.
Makes the work schedule for the support staff and finds coverage for vacations, sick days and education events.
Verifies orders and logs information into RIS.
Performs functions at Coordinator Desk.
Demonstrates excellent communication skills, including the ability to inform, explain and persuade.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification within 90 days of hire
Office and/or radiological department work with responsibilities for helping coordinate services, and demonstrated leadership abilities
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
High School Diploma or GED
2 years experience as DI Assistant or Electronic Imaging Assistant
PACS or RIS experience
