St. Joseph Health / Covenant Health Environmental Services Representative in Napa, California

We are looking for an Environmental Services Representative - NUHW (National Union of Healthcare Workers) with the Environmental Services Department at Queen of the Valley Medical Center.

Location: Napa, CA

Schedule: On-Call / Per Diem

Shift: 8-hour, Days

Job Summary:

The Environmental Services Rep (and PD) performs routine, cyclical, and detail cleaning of an assigned area, assuming responsibility for the cleanliness and safety in that area, reporting to the EVS Supervisor and accountable to the Manager of Environmental Services. The Environmental Services Rep (and PD) also works with other staff in the area to provide excellent customer service. Performs duties under moderate supervision.

Essential Functions:

  • Maintains consistent cleanliness in the assigned area, cleaning assigned areas daily, weekly, or as often as needed. Washes walls, doors, door frames, ceilings, air vents, and keeping cubicle curtains clean. Washes furniture, televisions, windows, tiles, fixtures, and equipment with germicidal cleaning solutions; scouring and polishing sinks, tubs, toilets, mirrors, and showers, changing beds, maintaining housekeeping closet, mopping floors, vacuuming carpet, collecting waste, and replenishing supplies.

  • Maintains an orderly, uncluttered area by arranging furniture and returning equipment to designated areas after cleaning.

  • Assists in the smooth functioning of the work area as deemed appropriate by the lead person in the area.

  • Organizes and completes work within assigned time-frames, helping others when appropriate and time allowing.

Preferred Position Qualifications:

Education: H.S. Diploma or GED

Experience: Experience in a hospital environment.
