We are looking for a Associate Receiving/Distribution Clerk - NUHW (National Union of Healthcare Workers) with the Purchasing Department at Queen of the Valley Medical Center. Apply Today! Location: Napa, CA

Schedule: Per Diem - 1 hour per week

Shift: 8-hour, Days (Variable)

Job Summary:

Performs all inventory and replenishment functions for distribution areas of Materials Management. Cleans, re-stocks and distributes specific procedure carts and some equipment. Receives, sorts and distributes all incoming mail, interdepartmental correspondence and prepares all outgoing mail. High level of customer service required. Performs all work under minimal supervision.

Essential Functions:

  • Accurately inventories supply carts on nursing units with the assistance of the Materials Management computer system.

  • Accurately pulls needed supplies from computer generated pick tickets.

  • Accurately identifies and thoroughly cleans patient equipment.

  • Accurately cleans and inventories specialty carts.

  • Delivers patient chargeable, non-chargeable and other non-stock and special order supplies to correct department.

  • Accurately and neatly puts stock away. Rotates stock with special attention given to dated material so that outdated stock can be eliminated.

  • Answers phones and fills emergency calls/orders.

  • Picks up and separates patient charge slips to be keyed in at the department.

  • Has access to and/or handles medications according to the standards set by the Medical Center.

  • Pick up mail from post office. Sort and process all outgoing mail and deliver to the post office.

Skills:

  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology and supplies, preferred.

  • Good written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to deal well with others.

  • Basic computer skills.

  • Detail oriented.

Position Requirements:

Education: H.S. Diploma or GED - Currently enrolled students may work with valid work

permit

License/Certification: Valid California driver's license.
